Was Duncan African-American[edit]

Was Duncan African-American. Her attending Howard, especially in this time period, and the name of her mentioned work of plays suggest this. It would be nice if someone reviewed the sources to make sure. Also, was she adopts by the Duncans, or ar we using irregular parent descriptions for stylistic reasons. If not the former, that probably should be changed. Do we have actual sources that show her father was the member of the state legislture, and not just another person with that same name? Was her listed father African-American. Considering he was a Republican in South Carolina in the 19th-century that would be unsurprising, but we need sources.John Pack Lambert (talk) 17:35, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
