[edit]This virus has never been detected in fruit bats, including Rousettus aegyptiacus and Eidolon helvum. In addition to the original isolation of WCBV from Miniopterus Schreibersii bat in Caucasus in 2002, antibodies to WCBV were found in African bats from Miniopterus genus.
