Amtrak
[edit]Did this station ever serve as an Amtrak station, or has that always been at the (current) Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railroad Passenger Station? I have a vague recollection of disembarking here on an Amtrak trip from Dallas to Fort Worth in early 1981. I've never been in the old Santa Fe station, but the fancy Art Deco design that remains in the waiting room at T&P lines up with how I remember the station I visited 40 years ago. (For what that's worth.) I have a clearer recollection that the Amtrak train used (what was then) the MoPac route — not the current TRE route — between the two cities (i.e. through Grand Prairie and Arlington), which (I guess) would have lined up the train more easily to use T&P. But I can't find anything on the web that would attest to this. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 18:53, 27 April 2021 (UTC)
