I never actually finished updating this article, as I found two paywalled articles in Puerto Rico newspapers that appear to be in-depth features or the equivalent (and didn't get around to asking a librarian for help). I'll add the links here if I can find them again, but I just wanted it on the record that there actually is a lot more meaningful coverage in Spanish about this Sylvia Gomez, beyond what is cited in the article.
