Promotional editing, likely "conflict of interest" (WP:COI)

[edit]

I have reverted the added changes once again. Editors with a likely "conflict of interest" are strongly discouraged from editing such articles themselves (see WP:COI). But aside from this general aspect, most of the added content was not encyclopedic and only served to promote the company:

  1. Phrases like "Committed to Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative", "Lava’s journey, spanning over 7 years has been a humble one", "The brand campaign 'Never lets you down' is what Lava stands for" (among many others) are entirely unencyclopedic PR fluff with promotional language and zero substantial information (see WP:PROMO, WP:NPOV).
  2. Wikipedia is not a catalog for comprehensive product lists and other excessive internal company details (WP:NOTDIRECTORY), unless significant aspects have been covered in independent reliable sources.
  3. The founders' biographies are largely off-topic for a company article, and contained even more uncritical adulation. A very brief mention of biographical context may be appropriate, if it's sourced and directly relevant for the company's foundation.

Editors with a conflict of interest are encouraged to make sourced suggestions in neutral non-promotional language as "edit requests" here on the talkpage (see message box on top of the talkpage). GermanJoe (talk) 14:57, 27 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
