Incorrect Location and Name

[edit]

According to the German Wikipedia Article http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ahunui, Ahuni is at 19° 37′ S, 140° 23′ W. Fangataufa is an atoll at 22°15′S 138°45′W. This agrees with the map at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Karta_FP_Tuamotus_isl.PNG which shows them as two separate atolls. However, this article says Fanga-taufa is another name for Ahuni, and that Ahuni is located at 22°15′S 138°45′W (basically right next to Fangataufa). Should this be fixed to be consistent? I think this article is wrong (in both the location, and also that Ahuni is also called Fanga-taufa), but I'm not absolutely certain.

- Looks like someone has now corrected the location. —Preceding unsigned comment added by PeterS6g (talkcontribs) 19:33, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Unsourced?

[edit]

Before slandering and claiming that material is unsourced, anyone in Wikipedia has to give a chance! All material I used in Tuamotu Atolls is translated from German and French Wikipedia articles mainly. I have no idea why certain users are rude upfront! Mohonu

Putting the horse before the cart

[edit]

Precisely because there is Google there is no need to overwhelm the reader of Wikipedia articles with excess citations in the text. A simple google of "tuamotu-ahunui-pipi" would have led you (User:Otolemur crassicaudatus) to the German Wikipedia, among Wikipedias in many other languages. (The same thing applies for googling "ahunui-hao-commune") Regarding the Ahunui articles in those languages. I don't see such cramming of references in their articles. Only after googling and after ending up with a negative result should one conclude that it is original and/or unsourced and then add the tag.Mohonu (talk) 08:04, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

False unsourced tags

[edit]

The image of this atoll was sourced as a NASA picture. Credit was given to NASA in the caption as per NASA's specific request. Isn't false tagging a form of vandalism? Mohonu (talk) 12:30, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Ahunui. Please take a moment to review my edit. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:
