Conflicting source

Los Angeles Herald, Number 193, 11 April 1899 reports 9 wounded including leader Stevens shot in the neck and back - "in seven persons being shot to death and nine wounded". MartinezMD (talk) 18:44, 20 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I deleted a sentence that speculated that the reason strikebreakers did not leave Pana was a lack of cash, being paid in scrip. It is stated further down in the article that when the strikebreakers were expelled from Pana, the majority went on to Wier, Kansas to get hired in a struck mine, rather than go home to the Jim Crow South.

I deleted another sentence that characterized the strikebreakers as drunks and roughnecks, and then characterizes the striking miners in the same way. This is inappropriate in a historical account.
