One editor added "The Regulators were 45 of the Old West's most skilled gunmen . . ." Evidence from the literature, as well as the Wikipedia article, Lincoln County Regulators, suggest that there were only 12 or so members and that they were former employees of Tunstall and other anti-Murphy-Dolan locals.
