[edit]The 1858 San Diego Hurricane was a very rare California hurricane. It is the only known tropical cyclone to impact California as a hurricane, although other systems impacted California as tropical storms.
- and
A California hurricane is a tropical cyclone that affects the state of California. Usually, only the remnants of tropical cyclones affect California. No hurricane has ever made landfall in California in recorded history.

- "To impact" is not the same as "to make landfall?" Perhaps, if the eye of the hurricane had made landfall, then they would have described it differently. If only the periphery of the hurricane passed over San Diego, then it would make sense to say that it impacted San Diego but did not make landfall.
- "The hurricane just missed making landfall, while turning to the west-northwest." 155.186.77.175 (talk) 05:24, 18 August 2023 (UTC)
Why is there no picture?
[edit]@Hurricanehink: Why has no one added a picture of this storm yet? Whenever I search for 1858 san diego hurricane on Google, I always see this image. Would that picture be okay? If it's okay, could you upload that image here? Thanks, 73.223.175.207 (talk) 08:03, 24 December 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks, done! ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 18:26, 24 December 2015 (UTC)
