Scott Scraper

[edit]

I've never heard of this guy, but it says he was a member of the SEAL team that killed Bin Laden. I thought none of their identities were public. Also, I ran a google search and don't see anything about this guy being a SEAL, other than what it says in this article. Should we scrub it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.164.224.170 (talk) 01:48, 28 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Schools

[edit]

Of the schools listed, only College of the Canyons, California Institute of the Arts, and Valencia High School are located in Valencia. The other schools listed are part of other communities in the city of Santa Clarita, such as Newhall and Canyon Country. - Jmartinsson 00:49, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sloppy sentence in intro

[edit]

The latter portion of the sentence below is extremely poorly written, and I'm unsure how it is actually supposed to read. It also has no citation so I'm not sure whether it is even true. Can someone confirm this info and clean up the sentence? In 1987, it was one of the four unincorporated communities (along with Saugus, Newhall, and Canyon Country) that merged to create the city of Santa Clarita, California in addtion new master plan of Newhall Ranch, California will be join to Santa Clarita and promises over 21,000 homes 19,000 more jobs plus 7 elementry school, junior high ,High school and more. --Kangabell (talk) 18:16, 4 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well I decided to just remove it altogether because it didn't belong in this article anyway -- Newhall Ranch is not part of Valencia (unless I am mistaken), so how many homes it offers, etc, is irrelevant. --Kangabell (talk) 02:18, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Paseos

[edit]

"Valencia also has an extensive system of paved pathways with grade separations over and under the boulevards. The pathways are called paseos. These paseos connect the entire community together making it possible to travel around Valencia without having to cross streets at grade."

For someone outside of California, and outside the USA, this sentence is a meaningless load of old cobblers. Paved pathways? grade separations? under the boulevards? cross streets at grade?

To me this sounds like there are pedestrian walkways running underneath the streets which are different qualities and are on slopes and you can cross them without going on the slopes. It needs simplifying, clarifying and explaining. Chaosdruid (talk) 04:17, 10 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Huh? I drafted that passage and it's crystal clear from a U.S. standpoint. I just added a bit more clarification, but I don't see anything wrong with it.--Coolcaesar (talk) 21:36, 10 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
