This article contains a number of phrases (e.g. "immediate acclaim", "excitement of fans") that seem aimed to promote the project rather than just inform readers about it. Most of these are sourced to third-party outlets, and I'm not suggesting some need for criticism to "balance" the praise, but the goal of Wikipedia neutral description. Can the praise be toned down without resulting in overly dry writing? (I'm not going to attempt it myself, because I quite like the outlet.) Cnilep (talk) 00:09, 25 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Cnilep, if you'd be inclined to read through the secondary sources to assess how neutrally or not the entry reflects them, I don't think your liking the outlet disqualifies you from revising to improve the entry! (We can only imagine what percentage of Wikipedia would not exist if liking a topic dq'ed editors from working on it!) As you can tell, my assessment of the secondary sources was that there was a striking amount of enthusiasm--it's actually what prompted me to write the entry, as I hadn't previously been a regular CS reader/listener, I'd just seen so much press about it (especially the podcast, which had press coverage for the better part of a year before the first episode was even released) that I was surprised to find it absent from Wikipedia. So I thought I could at least get it started with some broad strokes about the project and how it's been received. But for sure, if you think I've overstated the analysis as presented by reliable secondary sources, by all means, improvements on that score or any other are greatly appreciated! Update to say I was expanding some other sections of this entry so took a stab at revising the language Cnilep cited; I hope those spots are improved and I also think/hope the expansion of other sections less focused on reception makes the entry feel more balanced, but I'd be glad for more eyes on!
