BC Junior B

Hey, I see you are updating the different KIJHL team articles with final standings... how would you feel about building up these articles? Writing blurbs, searching out past standings, making better templates to make the articles look sharper... as well... the PIJHL and VIJHL need the same treatment. I've taken on the job of doing this in Ontario... and I need some counterparts doing this in other provinces... if you would be willing, it would be great... DMighton (talk) 05:29, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nice to hear back from you. BC hockey and Alberta hockey could certainly use the help! I'm strapped doing Jr. A leagues and the whole of Ontario... if you want to help... go right ahead! DMighton (talk) 05:52, 27 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
FYI... just made an article for the Fort St. John Huskies the other day... check it out... link it wherever you can! The Huskies of the NWJHL are the same franchise as the ones in the RM and PCJHL... sadly Dawson Creek's NWJHL franchise seems to have little or no relation to the old Kodiaks. DMighton (talk) 05:08, 28 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

KIJHL

Kootenay articles are looking great!!! Maybe you can take a stab at the PIJHL or VIJHL too? DMighton (talk) 18:00, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The VIJHL's website is under construction, so their historical standings are hiding right now... I e-mailed them about it a week ago, but I haven't heard back. For the PIJHL's back to 2001, I've posted them here: http://icehockey.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_PIJHL_Seasons ... For anything earlier... I fear it will take microfilming. DMighton (talk) 14:20, 4 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

BC IJHL maps

I'm not as familiar with BC geography and my map of Interior BC isn't very compatible with the very plain BC locater map form the Commons, so I need your help determining where cities should go. Spokane, Washington is out of the map and extending it down would take a long time so we'll just have to settle for it being in the wrong spot. (I have other maps like that, and it isn't too uncommon for a far outlying city to be displayed on the edge with an arrow or whatever). Here are the rough forms of the maps. The finished product will be SVG like the others: VIJHL (black) and KIJHL (colours); PIJHL. vıdıoman 18:53, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File:KIJHL Team Locations.svg vıdıoman 09:51, 6 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

PIJHL and VIJHL are done as well but the upload wizard at Commons isn't working properly so I'll try uploading them again later. vıdıoman 09:54, 6 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

BCHL Articles

Please do not wikilink "Fred Page Cup" in BCHL articles... it links to the Eastern Canada Jr. A Championship, the Fred Page Cup... which takes place on the other side of the country. I've noticed a bunch of them linked... DMighton (talk) 16:35, 21 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ponoka Stampeders requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Eeekster (talk) 04:28, 19 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Removing Speedy at Ponoka Stampeders

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Ponoka Stampeders, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, then you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Click here to contest this speedy deletion and appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 08:49, 19 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Lizard Range, near Fernie, BC, Canada requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. It works just like Wikipedia... so if you want to even create a new page.. .go ahead! I know... some old papers really suck... and some websites suck even more. DMighton (talk) 00:40, 27 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The 100 Mile House Wranglers will be added to the KIJHL if they can exceed season ticket sales of 350 by Jan 14. This would be the first Jr. B there since 1980 I think. Any word on Jr. B in Williams Lake or Quesnel? DMighton (talk) 06:11, 16 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've also heard that the Dawson Creek Jr. Canucks will fold and be replaced by the Dawson Creek Rage of the NAHL in the NWJHL. Makes me wonder what will happen to all those good Jr. teams in Alaska.. .they are kinda cut off. DMighton (talk) 21:47, 18 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Very cool... I'm still a little pissed at how 100 Mile House is being treated by the KIJHL. They should look at the NWJHL and join FSJ and DC. DMighton (talk) 00:23, 8 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. In Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League, you recently added a link to the disambiguation page Mike Hamilton (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. For more information, see the FAQ or drop a line at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 10:40, 8 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Lizard Range, near Fernie, BC, Canada.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 17:37, 27 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Shred Kelly, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://atomiqueproductions.com/calendar/shred-kelly/.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. Hey, I thought I should bring this up. The article on the Golden Rockets uses the team's outdated logo, and since you left a message on my talk page about editing KIJHL articles, I thought I might raise this matter with you. The team and league sites all use the new yellow and navy logo over the old red and black one, and since I can see by your talk page that you deal a lot with images, I thought I might bring this matter up. God bless, Iheartthestrals (talk) 03:00, 9 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Yes! I've been looking for a larger logo, but no luck. Messaged the team, no reply yet. Just fixed the Kimberley Dynamiters (KIJHL) logo by the way. And thanks for the 'thank'. I appreciate the work you've been doing for all the hockey articles, especially for the "Junior 'B'" pages. I work a lot, so when I get a chance to; I edit pages when I can. I do a lot of "statistics, playoff and logo" work, but I wish team's fans can edit the history part of their team's articles, when most of the junior teams have nothing about it on their websites...--NuckGhostriderTPB 03:05, 15 March 2016 (UTC)

Yes, it's not a very common subject for editing. Revelstoke's article only had standings updated until 2012 when I edited it, so it's falling behind. Fortunately, it isn't a very mainstream league, so no one really notices when something isn't updated, but I still like to keep things up to date. I haven't really done any work on images for Wikipedia before, so thanks for looking into that! Iheartthestrals (talk) 02:51, 18 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

That's no problem! If you ever need any hockey articles for logo/stats/playoff info let me know. Glad to help out! Usually any junior website has only the current year for playoff "brackets/stats", so I use a website that can bring up anything since the mid/late 1990's. It's called "Internet WayBack machine" by the way. That's how I know who lost or won in the playoffs/provincials/nationals 20 years back, for almost any team/league!. Also the Cougars have the best statistics set-up in the entire junior hockey pages, I'd like to set that up as an every team "go-to", but hard work for every team...I've also noticed the Alberta Junior 'A'/'B' team's pages needs MAJOR work. I created league/teams pages a few years ago and no one else edits them. --NuckGhostriderTPB 09:44, 25 March 2016 (UTC)

Internet WayBack sounds great. Yes, It's easy enough finding standings for teams in recent years, but the playoffs, especially the bracket and the teams played, are non-existent for most team sites. I've noticed the Alberta issue. I guess BC has the highest quality of Junior A/B leagues, so perhaps that's why. Thanks! Oh, and I don't get the notifications for your talk page, but I just check back occasionally to see if you answered what I said. Iheartthestrals (talk) 21:47, 26 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
