Not notable (yet). This stub should be deleted. (It also reads like a press release.) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sterngard (talkcontribs) 16:46, 28 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Sterngard: How is this non-notable? Laird has been covered by THR and Deadline. If you believe it is still so, nominate it for deletion. If this reads like a press release, fix it; given its short length, that would be pretty easy. Pamzeis (talk) 00:54, 29 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Laird’s role in season 1 of Mayor of Kingston is certainly Notable within that Notable series. (Season 2 is in production.) I just deleted the incorrect characterization of her as “a charming dancer” — that’s a distortion off the too-cute Reference used for describing her role later in this Stub. She actually played a prostitute under the total control of an especially evil gang boss in Mayor of Kingstown; she escapes that thanks to the help of series star Jeremy Renner (character Mike McClusky). But there is no RS that details that. If good References exist to cover that, this Stub could be upgraded. And her career continues to develop. So I agree with Pamzeis. Note: I am basically only a copy editor at this point, and not suggesting that I will take on the necessary RS search and Article expansion. All I did was remove the error in the Intro. Oops — should have been @Pamzeis or @Pamzeis …. I’m a slow learner, apparently. Sorry. Left Central (talk) 05:32, 2 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Birthday

According to Laird's official/personal instagram her birthday is in March and not September. It's not clear how September 8th ended up online, but the birth day should remain unattached to this article until there's some reliable sourcing to back it up. Nemov (talk) 13:29, 14 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It appears her birthday is in March according to this model site.[1] Still not sourced well enough to include in the article. Also, she's not Scottish which some sites on the internet have claimed. She's from Chesterfield, England. Nemov (talk) 00:36, 10 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Nemov: I understand I'm late to this discussion, and I apologise, but I haven't been very active lately. There are several sources that refer to her as Scottish:
And others (if anyone's interested: [2][3][4]). There are also sources that state she was born in Scotland ([5][6]). Contrastingly, I can't find any RSes referring to her as English. There do seem to be a number of sources indicating she is British:
And others ([7][8]). Overall, she definitely shouldn't be referred to as English in this article, as there are very few, if any, sources that verify this claim. She should either be referred to as Scottish or British; per MOS:NATIONALITY, there's no consensus on this and such decisions should be decided through consensus. Personally, I believe we should refer to her as Scottish as there are more sources supporting that (9 vs 5), though I don't mind calling her British either.
And in regards to the birth date, I believe we should use the September birth date as we aim for verifiability, not the truth. There are several RSes that support an 8 September 1998 birth date ([9][10][11]), while the only source that support March is (from what you said) her Instagram, which is WP:SOCIALMEDIA; such sourcing would require no reasonable doubt as to its authenticity, which isn't the case as there are other sources that directly contradict it. OK, now I'm done with my monologue. Bye! Pamzeis (talk) 12:53, 1 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Pretty much all links above calling her Scottish are just gossip who is she dating? articles that are basically tabloids. She grew up, went to school, and was discovered in England per cited interviews. That would make her English per MOS:NATIONALITY. We would need reliable sources to claim anything else. Having a bunch of bad sources isn't a replacement for reliable sources. Your argument to include the birthday violates WP:BLP birthday guidelines. As I have mentioned before, her birthday is indeed in March, but it's not sourced well enough to be included in this article. Again, the sources saying September aren't reliable enough to justify inclusion considering there's conflicting information. Nemov (talk) 13:03, 1 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Is the year of birth is agreed upon or not? Multiverse Union (talk) 16:32, 31 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It's probably in March, but it's not sourced well enough to cite in the article at this point. Nemov (talk) 22:04, 31 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Giving that based on sources it seems unclear whether she's English or Scottish, it would be best to describe her as British as that is correct either way.--Kmhkmh (talk) 13:24, 13 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It's clear she's from Chesterfield, England and that's adequately sourced in the article. Nemov (talk) 13:59, 13 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Why would it be clear if plenty of sources they otherwise?--Kmhkmh (talk) 14:51, 13 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

“Mayor of Kingstown” streaming Season 2

Laird's work continues in this Notable Paramount series, developed and written by Taylor Sheridan of 'Yellowstone' fame. The info in the Career section should be expanded as new References are identified. I may be able to do a bit more copy-editing at another time. FYI Pamzeis — thanks!
