My RfA

Greenbrier, TN

Hi. You saw that you just changed my edit to the article on Greenbrier, TN. I know for a fact that what I wrote is true because I lived there for several years and attended school there from kindergarten until graduation. Even some of the city officials are involved in the KKK. I'm currently looking for citations on this.

RE: Greenbrier, TN

I understand. I've already found one article written by the president of Hendrix College in Arkansas who had an experience with the KKK in Greenbrier in the late 60's while visiting some family in the area. I want to see what else I can dig up on this because this is something that really needs to be known. It's the only way to get rid of the problem.

XxOderusUrungusxX 00:06, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Would you mind giving this article a thorough copyedit? Its currently at the top of the WP:LOCE requests for FAC section, it has needed it for a while. The first FAC actually failed (only objections were prose), but I plan on renominating it after it is copyedited. The main problems cited were redundant wording (wordliness) and unnecessary links. (link to the FAC). Mr.Z-mantalk¢ 00:34, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Z-man. I am *really* not good at copyediting at all. Keep after the LoCE — maybe go to the talk page there and try to get to know some people. I do just about everything else, but that's not my strong point. Good luck ! SandyGeorgia (Talk) 02:09, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wii Points

What should be done about this? Clearly they should be removed, but I know if I removed them from the list pages...people would just revert my edits. The discussion at the Video Game Project talk page (which you posted at) doesn't seem to be getting anywhere. Should a request for comment be used? I've done some of those in the past (for other things), with little success though. RobJ1981 22:33, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I suppose so. I will wait a few days, but I'm pretty sure the situation will be the same then. I'm either going to do a RFC, or just ask some admins to intervine. They know policies much better, so they can determine once and for all if Wii Points (and other download prices: such as Xbox Live Arcade) need to be listed or not. The listings seem to violate a few policies as it stands now, so I would think those should hold up in this case. RobJ1981 23:14, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I posted on WP:ANI about the price problem, as I'm tired of the arguing at the talk page. Hopefully some admins see it, and resolve this price guide issue. It's clearly violating guidelines, and I'm sure there is sites that list prices (which can be put in external links for the appropriate articles). I don't know of any sites myself, but a search should turn up some I would assume. RobJ1981 21:14, 5 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Copyedit request

Sure, I'll take a look at it as soon as possible. Meanwhile, do you think you could help proofread Michiru Kaioh? I just submitted it as ready for final proofread, and I'm eager to see what I've missed. Whenever you can, though. Thanks! The Hippie 23:47, 5 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WP:ADOPT input

Hello, Mr.Z-man. The Adopt-a-User program is looking for new ideas and input on the program. If you are still interested please stop by the talk page and read some of the ideas being floated and give a comment. If you want to update or change your information on the adopter's list page, now would be a great time! Thanks! V60 干什么? · VDemolitions 03:47, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Editor not engaging in mediation

What to do in this case, Mr. Z. User:Dking is not engaging in the mediation at Cults_and_new_religious_movements_in_literature_and_popular_culture, despite the fact that he asked for such mediation. The only recourse I have is to revert to the undisputed version and see if that prompts him to engage. I do not want to do that, though. Could you please ask him to participate? ≈ jossi ≈ (talk) 17:41, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mediation of cults in pop culture

Hi. I would be interested in helping mediate, if you think I might be useful. Haven't mediated on wikipedia before, so it would be useful experience for me. I have fair amount of background in the study of religion. The parties disagree on the fairness of applying 'cult' (except where Jossie would agree that term is adequately referenced for each application, or where Dking would agree that the designation is not plausible on definitional grounds). However, this argument over 'cult' is difficult because WP:Cult might benefit from mediation/etc. Until 'cult' has a settled WP:NPOV meaning, I'm not quite sure how we can figure out how to apply it within an en.wp article. On the other hand, I'm wondering if you could ask both parties to focus first on NRM. Perhaps they might agree that it is NPOV to describe Zane Grey, Twain, etc as dealing with NRM's. (Granting that NRM is anachronistic and not cited in the old sources, it is a widely accepted current NPOV term.) Of course, the mediator should stipulate that an agreement on NRM does not waive anyone's unresolved claim to use 'cult' too. Please let me know if you think I might be helpful. HG 03:56, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Placed my offer on the mediation page and their user talks. Jossi responded and accepted. Dking has not responded. I posed a few questions to Jossi here. Just let me know: (1) How would you like me to communicate with you? Here? (2) Should I communicate with them via their talk pages, or would it be better to do it all on the article talk page, or even the case page? HG 15:59, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Copyedit

Hello there Mr.Z-man. I'm The Random Editor. You asked me to read over Mackinac Island. I did, and I believe that it is set & ready to go. Well written, good prose, correct spelling. I fixed the one & only typo. I say, run it again for GA status. --Random Say it here! 19:44, 13 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Question

MR Z

I had sent u a message a little while ago about copywright information, your reply was

"If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on the article Talk page. Alternatively, you may create a note on your web page releasing the work under the GFDL and then leave a note at Talk:Satan Disciples with a link to the details. Or, alternatively, you may rewrite the material in a way different from your website. Hope this helps! Mr.Z-mantalk¢ 20:28, 18 April 2007 (UTC)"

I did what you had suggested but I have not heard back from them. Does this mean that I will be able to create the pages on Wiki using the information that is copywritten on my site now, without having it removed??

Hey

I'm glad we both see that Ruslan sviridov should be gone =D Whstchy 18:50, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, a long stretch, highly doubt it won't get deleted Whstchy 18:58, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I've removed the speedy tag on Lawrence Dimick, as I believe it no longer qualifies. (You may have jumped the gun a bit; article authors often take more than a few minutes to get an article in shape.) I expect you'll want to put it to AfD, though. If you do, please let me know. Thanks, William Pietri 05:15, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did in Straight blast.

How else do I assert notibility?? Give me a break. You knew what that was about. Because it was AfD'd 207.202.227.125 01:08, 21 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just reverted your change to Template:Refimprove then I saw the TfD for Template:Refimprovesect. I am reading it now. Jeepday (talk) 02:22, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I looked at what happened I feel it could have been handled better, I have started a discussion at Template_talk:Unreferenced#Merge_and_Redirect.2C_after_speedy_close_of_TfD. Jeepday (talk) 02:57, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

FIBIS Advert tag

I have edited the FIBIS page now so that it hopefully reads less like an advert. Can we remove the tag? 213.208.100.78 15:05, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Question

Earlier in the month: you posted this on my talk page (about Wii Points): I was thinking an RfC, especially as current discussion seems to be much more evenly divided than some of the previous ones. I would wait a day or 2 first to see how the discussion pans out before considering starting one though. It really is a difficult situation as there is no policy or guideline (that I can think of) that really applies to something like prices. I can't remember if you posted here or not?Wikipedia_talk:What_Wikipedia_is_not#Not_a_sales_catalogue_or_price_guide. In any event: the discussion seems to have died. I also made this (which has some activity, but seems to have died down I believe): Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Video_games#Video_game_download_prices_.28again.29. This price issue is for several articles, so I'm not sure if I should do a RFC for all (or just the original problem area). Several places have download prices, unsuitable for an encyclopedia. If one RFC happens: the other pages should follow suit, as they are similar... but might not, so I wasn't sure. If you need a list of the articles, I can post them. There is several regular articles, as well as list pages that have this price nonsense. RobJ1981 15:44, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've created a new discussion here: Wikipedia:Village_pump_(policy)#Download_prices_in_video_game_articles. If that fails, I guess RFC is my only other option. Feel free to comment if you have time. RobJ1981 22:39, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for helping out over at WP:SCV, especially the Commons item. --Butseriouslyfolks 02:48, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My understanding is that we can use media licensed under certain of the CC licenses but that we cannot use CC licensed text, although I'm having a difficult time reconciling those positions. Try User_talk:Ram-Man/MLFAQ and Wikipedia:Multi-licensing for more information. --Butseriouslyfolks 03:15, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Jonathan Babineaux

What gives with reversing my edit on libel grounds? I deal with insurance and legal issues on a professional basis and there's no reason to remove my edit regarding his arrest when it's well documented. I've seen this edit added and removed by other users, but there's no reason for the removal! I cross-checked my information but forgot to add sources, however the next guy still added souces and did it properly, but IT STILL GOT REVERSED! Did his lawyers come after us?!? An arrest for animal decapitation is legitimate news and if proved true will potentially result in banishment from the NFL. Why does this keep getting deleted???AndyinMN 23:38, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
