FIFA 08 (also known as FIFA Football 08 and FIFA Soccer 08) is the forthcoming installment of Electronic Arts' popular series of football video games. Developed by EA Canada, it is to be published by Electronic Arts. It is set to be released this autumn to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, DS, PC, Mobile, PlayStation 3, and Wii.

Gameplay

EA Sports have also confirmed that snow will make its appearance for the first time on a next-gen football game. [citation needed] The Spanish language commentators that have been confirmed for FIFA 08 are Pablo Ramirez and Jesus Bracamontes.[citation needed]. The first trailer for the game shows some of the skills available in the game and the trailer also shows that there will be Nike football boots in the game.[1]

Leagues

The following leagues have been confirmed for FIFA 08. There may be a total of 30 leagues, with all 27 leagues from FIFA 07 included.[2] The only new league officially confirmed was the FAI League of Ireland.[3]. The list below may be incomplete as the two other expected new leagues have yet to be officially announced.

Platforms

Wii

The Wii version of the game will contain many exclusive features and an unique gameplay. Miis will be used in this game and they will have hands, contrary to all previous Mii related games. Also there will be many soccer related minigames. The Nunchuk is used to control a player's body, with the analog stick used to control the direction the player moves; the Z button is used for turbo running and to put spin on the ball once it's kicked. The Wii development team has yet to see if the game can be played with the classic or GameCube controllers, preferring to focus on the main Wii controllers first.
