This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Basketball fan24111 (talk | contribs) at 12:32, 29 August 2007 (Yao Ming‎: uw3 warning). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

Attention:

This IP address, 203.217.8.78, is part of a large pool of dynamically allocated addresses and is registered to the following Internet Service Provider (ISP) iiNet Limited, Locked Bag 16, Cloisters Square, WA, 6850 AU . At any time, it may switch to be used by multiple other customers of that ISP. Applying an infinite block of this IP is not appropriate, unless it is a soft block, because the IP address will later be reallocated to a different and unrelated and unsuspecting client of the ISP, thereby impairing access to Wikipedia in an inappropriate fashion. Comments left on this page may be received by other users of this IP and appear to be irrelevant. Caution should be used when blocking this IP or reverting its contributions without checking. In the event of vandalism from this address, efforts can be made to contact iiNet Limited, Locked Bag 16, Cloisters Square, WA, 6850 AU to report abuse.

The best approach is to determine the ISP's CIDR IP numerical address range and make a higher-level decision to soft-block the entire range. http://www.arin.net/ (for approximately North America) and related sites can help to identify that range. If the ISP is large and financially successful, then caution is advised about doing a range block as other Wikipedians, both registered and otherwise, may be affected.

If you are an unregistered user operating from this address, note that this need not necessarily be the IP address of your machine. If you are frustrated by irrelevant comments appearing here, you can avoid them by creating an account for yourself.

Caution should be used when blocking this IP or reverting its contributions without checking - if a block is needed, administrators should consider using a soft block with the template {{anonblock|optional comment}} as the block reason.

Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions.

Currently, you are editing without a username. You can continue to do so, as you are not required to log in to Wikipedia to read and edit articles; however, logging in will result in a username being shown instead of your IP address (yours is 203.217.8.78). Logging in does not require any personal details. There are many other benefits for logging in to Wikipedia. For now, if you are stuck, you can type {{helpme}} on this page and an experienced Wikipedian will be around to answer any questions you may have.

Please note these points:

  • Please respect others' copyrights; do not copy and paste the contents from webpages directly.
  • Please use a neutral point of view when editing articles; this is possibly the most important Wikipedia policy.
  • If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
  • Do not add unreasonable contents into any articles, such as: copyrighted text, advertisement messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Both adding such unreasonable information and editing articles maliciously are considered vandalism.

The Wikipedia Tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, ask me on my Talk page. I will answer your questions as far as I can! Thank you again for contributing to Wikipedia. Antonrojo 02:12, 17 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
