Selinia (Greek: Σελήνια) is one of the resorts of Salamis Island, Greece, located a few kilometers southeast of Salamis city . Selinia use to be the weekend resort of many Athenians due to its proximity to Piraeus and Athens. Selinia also features restaurants and taverns.

Geography
Its geography includes residential areas around the area and farmlands in its outskirts. The mountains that features grasslands and barren land along with forests dominates the outer areas. Farmlands used to be around the village until the 1980s.
History
Selinia has approximately 15 km of paved roads, of which 10 km are residential. Selinia also has approximately 16 km of hydro lines as well as phone lines.
Houses were stone-built until the 1950s and did not surpass modern-style homes until the 1980s. It was linked with pavement in the 1980s. Most of the homes are abandoned today.
After World War II and the Greek Civil War, much of the population left for larger towns and cities especially the nearby Patras. The population declined since 1981. Housing developments arrived in the 1970s and boomed in the 1990s. Its population doubled in nearly 15 years.
A small terrible fire strucked around the area on July 17, 2007 that burnt about thousands of hectares on the mountains of Selinia. Firefighters battle that enormous fire and took several hours to spray it all along with helicopters and airplanes. Some properties that include residential houses and buildings were burnt but the remainder were safe from the fire. It happened during the late-afternoon hours and ended during the night.
Economy
Its main production are fruits including watermelon, melon, figs and vegetables including corn, tomatoes, potatoes, onions, cucumbers and others as well as dairy, livestock, olives and others. The majority of the population are based in other businesses as well as agriculture.
Panorama
Selinia offers prestigious views of the area and its beach. It also offers nice views of Athens and Piraeus along with its harbor and the southern suburbs, it also views the nearby mountains as well as Aigaleo and Hymettus. The island of Aigina can be seen in the southern parts.
Other
Selinia has a few schools, a lyceum (middle school), a school gymnasium (secondary school), a church, and a square (plateia).
