This is a list of characters from the American animated television series The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy.
Main characters
Grim
Voiced by: Greg Eagles
Grim is the Grim Reaper, a scythe-wielding skeleton in a black hooded robe. He is over 10,000 years old, speaks in a Jamaican accent, and was elected to his position when he was in middle school. Grim is a relatively carefree figure who particularly enjoys his job, but often appears less than happy with his life with Billy and Mandy. Grim enjoys chaos, despair, torture, and many other dark themes. He attends children martial arts classes. Grim is slowly adapting to modern life, usually seen watching television, eating snacks, and sometimes gardening. His scythe is the source of his powers and possesses many magical qualities though, he is still capable of using magic without it (these instances are rare).
Growing up with a father, (who loved listening to country rock more than spending time with his own son) Grim pretended to be a country rock star to gain his father's attention. He would later discover his true passion for reaping the souls of mortals, and make it his goal to become a reaper. During his grade school years, Grim befriended a humanoid spider named Velma Green, and made his first major enemy, the Boogey Man. While Grim and Velma were considered nerds in school, they remained best friends for years until the reaper election in middle school. In an attempt to stop the Boogey Man from cheating himself into the position of reaper, Grim found himself in an incriminating situation. Believing that her best friend had cheated her out of the position as reaper, Velma developed a powerful hatred for Grim.
Centuries later, Grim lost a bet to Billy and Mandy, and under the authority of the underworld contract, he was fated to be their "best friend" forever. The contract is legally binding to the point that if he tries to leave via portal, the portal reappears somewhere in Billy's house. Despite this, the children treat him more like a slave, often forcing him to do their chores or create supernatural fun for them. This indiginity often leads him to seek ways of getting out of his contract, none of which have worked so far. He has also tried getting the children into dangerous situations in the hopes that they will not make it out alive, but his attempts always prove to be unsuccessful.
While Grim appears to have a pacifistic nature, there are often times when he openly displays fits of anger. He usually appears indifferent to what is happening around him, but this is probably due to his hatred towards Billy and Mandy. Though he is bounded to them, Grim will often help them with their problems or concerns, buthe usually half-heartedly.
Billy
Voiced by: Richard Steven Horvitz
Billy is a happy-go-lucky,dim-witted(to the point of retardation),naive child, with an IQ of -5. He has a large pink nose, wears a blue and white striped shirt, and covers his orange hair with a red hat. Like his father, he has a number of unpleasant habits, including nose-picking, flatulence, and male chauvinism. Occasionally prone to nonsensical fits of rage (these instances show even MANDY running away rather than face him), he is hyperactive, with a knack for causing disasters, often related to abusing Grim's supernatural items that he usually finds in Grim's trunk. Also, Billy has an obsession with naming most of his new friends. He has Arachnophobia, Entomophobia, and Coulrophobia. Usually, Billy is abused by his "friend" Mandy, Wether it's insults or even physical violence.
Mandy
Voiced by: Grey DeLisle
Mandy is Billy's closest friend, but has been full of rage since before her birth. She has a blond devil-horn-like hairdo. She is also the only human character to have no nose, but according to her, she doesn't have one because it is disgusting.
She has an acerbic and sardonic personality, often saying things like, "I'm all for the abuse and exploitation of the stupid"; in the episode Billy Gets an A, Grim sums her up as a "heartless, foul, despicable demon child". She is very intelligent, and hates other people being smarter than she is. Mandy believes that she never loses, and sees such instances as choosing not to win. She is almost fearless, and is willing to stand up to schoolyard bullies and monsters from the underworld without flinching. The only thing she is seen running from in a vague sort of fear is an enraged Billy. However it is also implied by Billy and Grim that she has a fear of professional figure skating. It is later revealed that her deepest fear is becoming a loving person and marrying Irwin. When she is forced to face this fear, she comments that she was supposed to have done something important with her life, and promptly flees from the illusion.
Mandy is bossy, and can intimidate almost anyone into doing what she wants with her threats. She almost never smiles, and torments everyone, including her parents, who fear her very presence. It is even shown that she has a measure of control over almost everyone living in the town of Endsville, and can extend her will upon them if she wishes. This is first seen when her parents hire an imported nanny to teach her some manners and discipline. She retaliates by exerting her control over the denizens of the town and using them to get rid of the nanny. Mandy is also a napkin collector, and has dreams of ruling the world. She once got the chance to do this, but she turned it down, as she wants to wait when the time is right.
Billy's family
Harold
Voiced by: Richard Steven Horvitz
Harold, known commonly as Billy's father, is an overweight man with a large, bulbous nose and a lofty black pompadour, in which he stores his brain. He resembles his son in appearance, personality, and being only slightly smarter in intelligence, once commenting (in disgust) that if Billy looked like his wife, he would be pretty. According to a caption in the episode Dream Mutt / Scythe for Sale, he is a former Navy SEAL, as well as being a legendary master dancer. Harold's father seen briefly in flashbacks, only resembles his son with the nose and is quite muscular and large with grey hair, a rather angry demeanor, and an Irish or Scottish accent. Also, he has been shown (on occasion) to be smarter than his exterior shows to be; he (in The Taking Tree) is shown to have been accepted to Harvard.
Gladys
Voiced by: Jennifer Hale
Billy's mother Gladys is a loving, patient, yet mentally unstable woman. Despite having to deal with her husband, son, and the presence of the Grim Reaper as her eternal house-guest, she has learned to tolerate them. Gladys has red hair and is usually seen wearing a floor-length, lavender nightgown. She hates Grim to the point of psychotic obsession, and considers him a constant threat to her son's safety. She has a severe facial tic which usually appears when Billy is misbehaving, when her authority is challenged, or whenever Grim is present, most likely developed as a result of her nervous breakdown in episode 1. She is prone to small fits of insanity and obsessive-compulsive episodes.
Nergal
Voiced by: David Warner (Seasons 1-3), Martin Jarvis (Season 3 +)
Nergal is a mutant creature who lives in the roasting center of the Earth. He is an all-black supernatural being with green eyes (with purple pupils), a green mouth, green teeth, and green organs, all of which glow. He wears a black tuxedo jacket with a red shirt and black tie. He has several snakes that extend from his back that can electrocute his victims, one time he used his tentacles to turn everyone in Endsville into demons. He is generally considered something of a loser and he often becomes histrionic over his failings. Later in Love is Evol Spelled Backwards, Nergal meets Billy's aunt Sis and ends up marrying her (which now makes him Billy's uncle). He also has a son named Nergal Junior. In his first appearances, Nergal was one of the main enemies of Billy, Mandy and Grim, but now as a member of Billy's family, he is a friend of them. It is revealed that he went to middle school with Grim.
Nergal Junior
Voiced by: Debby Derryberry
Nergal Junior is the son of Nergal and Aunt Sis. He has the power to shapeshift. When he takes another's shape, he keeps his lime eyes, glasses, green tongue and sharp, yellow teeth. His true form is freakish and grotesque, and was never seen on-screen until in the episode The Most Greatest Love Story Told Ever. Like his father, he is lonely and can't find friends, and because of his desperation, he developed evil tendencies and terrorizes everyone who stands in his way.
Milkshakes
Voiced by: Grey DeLisle
Milkshakes is Billy's cat, a male pink feline who is frequently put into unusual situations by the supernatural events that occur in his owner's life. Milkshakes usually shakes any situation off with a calm meow.
Mandy's family
Phil and Claire
Mandy's mom, Claire, has blonde hair and Phillip, her dad, wears glasses. While early in the series they seemed to treat Mandy as a normal child, they now appear to live in a state of paranoid fear of their daughter, who takes advantage of this, making demands whenever she is at home.
Saliva
Saliva is Mandy's dog, and appears to have lower than average intelligence, motor skills, and awareness. It's name echoes his propensity for drooling saliva, which he does almost constantly. Saliva is very cowardly in the face of danger, usually hiding behind Mandy. Saliva may be a below-average dog in many areas, but his redeeming quality is that he is utterly loyal and faithful. He is rarely shown in the series and is talked about more often.
Grim's family
Grim's parents
Grim's father apparently loves country music more than his own son. In Grim's desperation, he dressed up to resemble Willie Nelson and told his father he was a country music star, not the Grim Reaper and even insisted on it. However, in an episode before this, Grim's dad knew he was the Grim Reaper. Grim says his three-headed monstrous dog ate his dad. Grim's mother's name is Miriam, and is a skeleton genie.
Granny Grim
Grim's granny is a blind skeleton with dreadlocks who has a knack for concocting potions and remedies for various ailments. Granny Grim's potions never quite work the way they should, but Grim still turns to her for help occasionally. She constantly talks to her toilet.
Cerberus
Cerberus is Grim's out-of-control vicious three-headed dog. One head is youthful, one is middle-aged, and the final head is an elderly dog that resembles a poodle. Grim has stated that Cerberus ate his father, although this does not appear to match with the continuity established in other episodes, where Grim's father appears relatively intact and unharmed, though it is possible he was expelled somehow.
Lucky
Lucky is Grims cute little dog that was seen on the episode "Who killed who." Mrs. Doolin won him in a bet against Grim. Grim reportedly got him back.
Irwin's family
Irwin
Voiced by: Vanessa Marshall
Irwin is Billy's nerdy friend who wants to be cool, and frequently ends sentences with the word "yo." He usually dresses in a short sleeved collared shirt, pants, and round glasses. He has an obsession with Mandy, and fruitlessly longs to gain her affection, but is usually turned down or threatened by her as a response to his actions. This is possibly the reason why he continues to chase her, as he later admits that he likes who she is. This is seen in one episode when Mandy begins to change into a caring person, but Irwin kisses her with the knowledge that such a shock would revert her to normal.
Irwin is Billy's closest friend, but is often forgotten in dangerous situations, as well as being used as bait for the paranormal entities that they often face during their adventures. While seemingly good-natured, it is revealed in a later episode that Irwin has a dark side. He was apparently born evil, but was taught the ways of good by his father, and eventually grew out of his bad behavior. This is due to Irwin having a Mummy for a mother and a Vampire for a GrandFather. Irwin also has an older brother named Melvin. Not much is known of him except that he appeared briefly in the episode "Halls of Time", and is mentioned in "Billy and Mandy Begins"
Dick
Voiced by: Phil LaMarr
Irwin's father is a normal middle-aged man named Dick who ends a lot of his sentences with the word "dude". He married a mummy named Judy, who lives in a sarcophagus in the basement of Irwin's house. While it is never explained why, the basement looks like an Egyptian tomb. Irwin's father insists that their unusual pairing leaves "a lot of questions that don't need to be answered." His father-in-law is a mummy, and was once a great Egyptian Pharaoh named Tootinpootin. Unlike this daughter he is somehow able to speak in normal sentences, although he has an old world hebrew twang to his voice.
Tanya
Voiced by:
Tanya who is usually referred to as "Granmama", is Irwin's grandmother and Dick's mother. She usually ends sentences with "baby," as Irwin does with "yo," and his father with "dude." She is also the wife of Dracula. Despite her angry demeanor, she seems to care for Irwin, but will sometimes embarrass him. She doesn't like to be challenged or insulted, and has a hatred of "hippity-hop" music. She also uses "yo mama" jokes on people that get in her way of things.
Dracula
Voiced by: Phil LaMarr
The once famous vampire lives in the Home Of The Ancients, a retirement home for old Movie Monsters. Dracula talks incredibly fast, and likes to dance. He does not remember names well, and often calls Grim "Skeleton Man" or even "Dummy". He is argumentative and easily distracted. He refers to himself in third person. In "Dracula Must Die," it was revealed that he had married Tanya years before and was thus the father of Dick and grandfather of Irwin, a fact that neither of them were aware of. Tanya had assumed that he walked out on the family, when in reality, she had unknowingly chased him out of the house while he was in his bat form, apparently not knowing he could transform himself.
In the fall of 2006, Dracula became the network's Halloween horror host in puppet form, along with Courage the Cowardly Dog, hosting such events as Billy's Birthday and others. Dracula was yet again a host for the Billy & Mandy's Big Boogey Adventure movie. He also made a cameo in the movie itself, during the musical number. Dracula may also be a tribute to the cult film, Blacula. He also bears a resemblance to and sound like Redd Foxx in the show Sanford and Son, particularly in his relationship with Grim.
Usually, Irwin likes Dracula to call him "Granpapa".
Billy and Mandy's classmates
Pud'n
Voiced by: Jane Carr
A weak and easily frightened classmate of Billy, Mandy and Irwin, Pud'n is often the victim and/or instigator of some trauma. He is a red-headed, freckled boy with buck teeth, and he wears a hoodie. He has no parents but was indeed raised by wolves. Despite this, Pud'n loves dollies, bunnies, flowers and many other "girly" things, and is usually found hanging out with Billy and Irwin, being beaten up, or in class.
Sperg
Voiced by: Greg Eagles
Sperg is the local bully, who constantly bullies Billy, Irwin, Pud'n and other kids to no end. He is a husky boy whose preferred method of terrorizing nerds is by administering his "deadly" wedgies. He has a heart-shaped tattoo that reads "Mom" on his arm, and has a talent for ice carving. Despite his physical strength, he is frightened of Mandy. He later confides to Billy that he disliked her because she was different from himself and had her own way of doing things.
Mindy
Voiced by: Rachael MacFarlane
Mindy is the iconic "popular girl" in the series. She is a spoiled child who acts superior to her classmates, and is obsessed with proving her worth to Mandy, who doesn't care for her at all. Red-haired and freckled, Mindy describes herself as being "prettier" than Mandy, but deep down inside she envies Mandy's witty ways and all her adventures with her friends, Grim and Billy. It is implied that she did not receive much attention from her mother when she was younger, resulting in a subconscious plea for attention from anyone who will give it to her. This is possibly the reason why she acts the way she does towards other people.
Bobby
Bobby is the replacement Billy Character. Sometimes he wants to hang out with Mandy instead of Billy hanging out with her and also puts "Mandy" on her parent's car or minivan to impress her. He sees Billy's parents as his new parents, and even sings to them. Bobby appears to be Billy's arch-enemy for unknown reasons. Billy eventually manages to send Bobby to another dimension, and it is currently unknown where he is.
Piff
Piff is a gothic character who appeared in the Billy and Mandy episode, "Crushed". While Mandy fell in love with him, she was unsure of what the emotion meant, and he did little to acknowledge her. Mandy told Grim that he wanted to cut out her heart, instead, Grim gave her a makeover. Upon sight of her, Piff asked if she would like to go to a dance with him, but Mandy refused him. Piff dresses in black, has dark sunglasses and a "HATE" belt buckle. He is seen in the backround more. Piff's real name is unknown, Billy called him Piff because Irwin pointed "That we have to call him something.
School staff
Eleanor Butterbean
Voiced by: Renee Raudman
Ms. Butterbean is Billy and Mandy's teacher. She doesn't care about her students, and teaches solely to get her paycheck. She is often seen napping in the class. Her lack of enthusiasm stems from how Goodvibes said she is paid $2.00 an hour.[citation needed]
Principal Goodvibes
Voice by: Chris Cox
Principal Goodvibes is the principal of Billy and Mandy's school, with a voice reminiscent of Paul Lynde. His name was legally changed to Goodvibes, and he makes sure that his students feel good to the point of absurdity. Being an educator in the show's universe doesn't pay any better than it does in the reality: Goodvibes secretly lives in his car, which is parked in the school parking lot. From the episode "Everything Breaks" onward, he is lot stricter and not as pushed around then before. In one episode he admitted that he was technally retarded.
Recurring characters
Hoss Delgado
Voiced by: Diedrich Bader
Hoss is a spectral exterminator; a hunter of paranormal creatures. He is modeled after Ash, the protagonist of the famed The Evil Dead horror movie trilogy and Snake Plissken, the character portrayed by Kurt Russell in John Carpenter's films "Escape from New York" and "Escape from L.A.". Hoss possesses one real hand and one mechanical one, the latter of which can seemingly produce any tool he desires, most commonly a metal fist or chainsaw. Hoss is the macho, take no prisoners, gung ho, manly figure in Grim Adventures, though in most episodes he acts in a clumsy and/or goofy manner. For a while he dated Eris, goddess of Chaos, and their relationship was very dysfunctional. His surname translated from Spanish ironically means "slender" and his full name is a play on the word "hostile". Hoss is known to make incredibly odd and usually completely irrelevant metaphors, often when talking to someone who is either cowardly or stupid. Similarly he uses exclamatory phrases which are different but recognizable from their original form.
Eris
Voiced by: Rachael MacFarlane
Eris is the Greek goddess of strife and matron deity of the Discordianism religion, here portrayed as a curvaceous and beautiful, but vindictive, blonde-haired woman with a gap in her teeth. She delights in causing all kinds of chaos, and does a multitude of destructive things. She possesses the powerful Apple of Discord, a golden apple which can transform into any shape to perpetuate chaos. Her accent and behaviour is prone to sudden shifts, from a stereotypical valley girl to a refined British woman. Eris appears in "Wrath of the Spider Queen", attending the same school as Grim, Velma, Nergal, Lord Pain, and Boogey.
Eris' appearance is possibly a reference to Madonna, who is known for her blonde hair and coquettishness, and for adopting a faux English accent. Eris's teeth gap and mole is similar to Madonna's.
For some time, Eris dated Hoss Delgado. Her feelings had the side effect of bringing order to chaos. Destroyed items would merge themselves back together, even if Eris was not around. It is because of this that Mandy decided to restore Chaos by getting Hoss to break up with Eris. Hoss had a hard time dealing with her emotional mood swings and the resulting actions. Grim also had a crush on Eris for a while, but his feelings were unrequited for obvious reasons and she harshly rejected and "dissed" him.
Jeff the Spider
Voiced by: Maxwell Atoms
A spider that thinks Billy is his father after he hatched him. Billy fears him and wants him dead, even though Jeff is very friendly and usually tries to get Billy to love him by being nice or giving gifts to him.
General Reginald Skarr
Voiced by: Armin Shimerman
General Reginald Peter Skarr first appeared in the show Evil Con Carne, where he was Hector Con Carne's military commander. He has a scar on his face, and has only one eye. General Skarr is usually a cold-hearted, hateful, and harsh man, with big interests in power and world domination. While this is true, he tends to behave much more rationally when left alone. Retired from villainy, he moved into Billy and Mandy's neighborhood in the episode Skarred for Life. He is constantly struggling with the temptation to return to his evil ways, often feeling the temptation to steal Grim's scythe and use its power to take over the world, although in one episode when a skeleton head went around granting peoples wishes(that would later backfire) he wished that he would rule the world. Skarr enjoys tending to his garden, and often uses this hobby as a distraction from his temptation to return to the dark side. While he is no longer a member of Evil Con Carne, Skarr has many weapons and mementos from his past which he stores in his private study. Among these, are his military outfit, and a large picture of himself with Hector and Ghastly.
Skarr has a deep hatred for Billy, who annoys him to varying extents. It is also shown in the one episode.
Skarr bears a striking resemblance to Herr Starr, a key antagonist in Garth Ennis and Steve Dylan's comic book series Preacher.
Hector Con Carne
Voiced by: Phil LaMarr
The main character from the show, Evil Con Carne, Hector is a dynamic, evil playboy type. Reduced to an anthropomorphic brain and a stomach after a gigantic explosion destroyed his real body, the stomach has somehow taken on a life of its own. Hector is often frustrated by the difficulty of taking over the world in this state. After the organization gets bought out by an entertainment company, Hector and Ghastly travel to Endsville to convince General Skarr to help them restart Evil Con Carne. After accidentally destroying Skarr's garden, the angry general attacks Hector in a frenzied rage, causing their plans for world domination to fail once again.
Major Dr. Ghastly
Voiced by: Grey DeLisle
A gentle mad scientist who fell in love with Hector, she helped him out of sympathy. She is a red-haired woman in tight rubber clothing and wears dark goggles that hide her eyes, except her irises. She testifies against Mandy during the episode "Keeper of the Reaper" and appears alongside Hector when they try to restart Evil Con Carne.
Boogey Man
Voiced by: Fred Willard
An old arch-enemy of Grim's since junior high school, and a former school bully, Boogey played pranks on Grim throughout his school career. In middle school, the Boogey Man competed against Grim and Velma for the title of reaper, attempting to cheat his way into the position by threatening to give the voters nightmares if they refuse to elect him, and sneaking papers with his name on them into the votes. He is stopped by Grim, who believed that Velma deserved the position, and uses the prototype scythe to attack Boogey. Boogey's plans are foiled, and Grim is given the position by the voters who witnessed Grim's display of rage.
Boogey is Grim's rival in scaring people, but usually fails in doing so. Constantly frustrated by his inability to scare modern-day children, Boogey visits Grim in the episode, Bully Boogie. He challenges his old rival to a scaring contest, which he promptly loses, and is banished to another dimension.
The Boogey Man is prominently featured as the main villain in the television movie "Billy & Mandy's Big Boogey Adventure" where he testified against Grim in front of the Underworld Court. After getting his old nemesis fired from his position as reaper, he volunteers to take Grim and his accomplices out for a sail with his pirate crew, so that he may dispose of the former reaper. Boogey reveals that his true objective is to gain a powerful artifact called Horror's Hand, a device that make's the holder all-powerful and vastly scary. Grim and the children make their escape before Boogey can dispose of them, resulting in a competition to see who can get to Horror's Hand first. Boogey and his crew compete against Grim, Mandy, Billy, and Irwin, and are unable to make it to the hand first. Upon realizing that he is not scary, Boogey Man is thoroughly humiliated by Grim, becoming more of a coward than ever.
Lord Pain
Voiced by: Henry Gibson
Grim's servant who comes from the Plane of Eternal Suffering (he later says he is really Charles from the Plane Of Happy Ponies). He first appeared in House of Pain. He was also featured in the opening sequence and Everything Breaks as Mandy's servant. He carries a mace and shield, wears a spiked helmet, and he has a red and black cape and turquoise armor. He has tattoos all over his body which originally featured Grim, but was later altered to show his devotion to Mandy.
Jack O'Lantern
He once was a normal human in the middle ages from Endsville. He loved playing pranks and doing tricks all over Endsville. People of Endsville eventually got tired of his pranks, so they decided to backfire. After the queen orders Jack dead, Grim arrives to banish Jack from the real world. However, the prankster played a trick to escape death. He made a deal with Grim to stay alive forever. After granting him immortality, Grim cut his head off. Eventually, Jack had to replace his head with a pumpkin. Since that day, every year on Halloween, Jack gets revenge on the people of Endsville by playing nasty tricks on them.
Underworld court
Judge Roy Spleen
Judge Roy Spleen is the Judge of the underworld court. He appears to not be very good at his job as a judge. He and the whole Underworld Court first appeared briefly in the episode Home of the Ancients, but had a much more major role in the episode Keeper of the Reaper. He occasionally displays absent-mindedness, and had a strong dislike of Fred Fredburger. He is also seen in Billy & Mandy: Wrath of the Spider Queen as Grim's school teacher, and appears at Jeff's wedding.
Judge Roy Spleen is voiced by Phil LaMarr. His name was apparently inspired by the famous judge of the Wild West, Roy Bean.[citation needed]
Fred Fredburger
Fred is a spring green, elephant-like creature with the devil's horns and tail who has a short attention span. He lives in the underworld, and first appeared in the episode "Keeper of the Reaper". Nevertheless, he appears to mean well or at the very least not bad. This perhaps led to huge popularity with many which in turn led to his appearance in other episodes. His dialogue consists of saying his name constantly and very often and saying "yes" at random times. He is usually an annoyance to other characters, especially Grim, and seems to have a strong liking towards frozen yogurt, nachos, and variety of other foods. He speaks in simple English, and likes to spell words, particularly his own name. He appears to be very simple minded, but is usually a positive, good-natured character. He was also one of the characters in the Cartoon Network Yes! campaign with part of the name of it being derived from one of most common sayings "Yes". Fred will also be featured in a spin off titled "Underfist." Fred is known for eating nachos and also saying innappropriate phrases like "the nachos made my poopoo really stinky".
Harvey
A demonic snake that functions as Grim's lawyer. His mannerisms suggest Christopher Walken. In "Home Of The Ancients", he sits next to Grim in the guilty or innocent desk, and in "Keeper of the Reaper", he described the jury's duties to them. His latest appearance is in Hurter Monkey, where his name was revealed as Harvey. His name may be a reference to the title character of Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law.
Toadblatt's Summer School of Sorcery
Nigel Planter
A spoof of Harry Potter, Nigel Planter is a boy with glasses and an "L"-shaped pen-mark on his forehead. He's a young whiny wizard from Weaselthorpe House at Toadblatt's summer School of Sorcery. He often ends up being beaten up but when not close to danger he shows his full overconfidence and a deluded self image, often taking credit for things he did not do. Later on, his voice begins to crack and he is taller after "going through puberty", another Harry Potter reference. Lord Moldybutt stated that his parents were dead, but this conflicts with One Crazy Summoner when Nigel stated that his father has been held back at Toadblatt's for many years. On rare occasions, it is implied that he held mild romantic affections for Mandy. Also in his debute he told mandy, very quickly, that he "Made out with this dog".
Dean Toadblatt
Dean Toadblatt is the headmaster of Toadblatt's Summer School of Sorcery. Toadblatt is essentially a large, humanoid toad wearing a purple wizard's robe. He possibly might be a spoof of Albus Dumbledore, although in One Crazy Summoner, most of his dialog is a parody of Dean Wormer, John Vernon's role in "Animal House" (John Vernon had provided the voice until his death). He hates Nigel Planter with a passion, a possible allusion to Severus Snape from Harry Potter or a spoof of Dumbledore's care for him.
The Squidhat
Parodying the Sorting Hat, the Squidhat is a singing, semi-intelligent (he teaches a number of classes) telepathic squid who decides where a student resides for their years at the school. Like the Dean, he too delights in tormenting Nigel Planter. He is voiced by "Weird Al" Yankovic
Other characters
Sir Raven
A hostile British raven who hosted a few episodes. He wears a fez, a smoking jacket, and carries a golden, jewel-encrusted goblet. Typically he sits by a fire in a library decked out in Edwardian fashion, and comments on the episode at hand. He usually says that he doesn't care for events in an episode. He is most famous for his sudden and often unexpected close-up shots of him yelling loudly.
