= 98ROCK. hired Bubba after it's dj's made fun of him.

I used to listen to 98ROCK. all the time before they hired "Bubba the Tub Sponge" as they used to frequently refer to him on the air. There was a whole session of one of the dj's making fun of Bubba trying to get a job at 98ROCK. We were assured time and again that they would never give him a job there, next thing I know Bubba was hired and everyone who had made fun of him and didn't want him there was fired. Worst thing that could've happened to them. I stopped listening at that time and didn't start listening again until he was gone. Not that the guy they have doing the morning show now is much better. He's like a slightly toned-down Bubba clone. And it's ironic to me that Bubba had to go to Howard Stern for a job after telling everyone on his morning show that he could take Stern down if he wanted to. I expect this comment will be deleted, but I have not made any of this information up and anyone who lives in the Tampa Bay area and used to listen to 98ROCK. will know that I am telling the truth. ~Spiralnyne, September 27, 2007

We won't delete your commment. Its fair discussion. WP is not bias and censorship of the discussion page is a lot more lax than censoring the main article. WP is made up of open-minded hard working volunteers and we assume good faith. ~Neurodiversity9, Feb 24, 2008

Z100 days in NYC

Why haven't the Stern crew ever made fun of Bubba for his days on Z100 in NYC? I had a tape of the Z Morning Zoo's greatest hits in 1989-1990 that featured some awful crap with their correspondent "Bubba the Love Sponge from Massapequa" (Go bubba, go bubba, go bubba, go! - that was the theme song). It was almost as bad as his "rap" song. Anyone who listened to Z100 at that time might remember Bubba's work with Mr. Leonard (a horrible recurring character). —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.233.69.60 (talk) 08:40, 25 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

I remember Mr Leonard. That character was actually portrayed by Adam Sandler. Look for an old Z100 cd, they actually have him credited. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.85.214.140 (talk) 21:19, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Its highly doubtful that was the same Bubba. There were appearently Dozens of Bubba The Love Sponges across the nation before he trademarked it and made it his name.71.126.119.160 19:28, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Other controversies

There was a big controversy with adult performers Brooke Skye and Melissa Midwest when they were on his show, where Brooke Skye claimed she had been coerced into inserting a phallic device and I think is now suing. Shouldn't this be added? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bugg1979 (talkcontribs)

She was paid $300 for that day, and on her first trip was free. Apparently, according to her, no one informed her of the agenda that day, and she was ambivalent about performing. The other actress also received $300 and was aware, but wasn't aware that brooke skye was unaware.

What exactly did Howard say when he announced Bubba would be joining him on Sirius? I listened to some old clips today, from the time of Howard's separation, where he was totally ragging on Bubba as being just another clone like Opie and Anthony. Obviously, Bubba somehow changed his mind.

Also: I don't know, I really doubt that there were ever dozens of Bubba the Love Sponges.147.9.157.153 05:00, 30 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Given Howards now long running stand against Clear Channel, the fact that Bubba was fired from Clear Channel for indecency probably helped him get the job more then anything else. It wouldn't be a strecth to belive that someone from Z100 might have been in Florida or close to a Market that Bubba was on and decided to steal the name since it was "zany" Heavytundra 05:35, 31 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Gutting of this article by Can't sleep, clown will eat me

User Can't sleep, clown will eat me deleted most of this article and when I tried to revert those deletions, he posts this on my talk page.

Please do not restore this content without providing reliable sources. The entire article violates a laundry list of policies and guidelines, amongst them WP:BLP, Wikipedia:Verifiability, Wikipedia:Avoid trivia sections, Wikipedia:No original research, and a number of points made at WP:NOT. The questionable content was removed for good reason. If you have any questions regarding this, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you, Can't sleep, clown will eat me 06:20, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

I think what he is doing is wrong. He never gives a warning or tries to communicate with people on this article's talk page and takes out almost all useful information on a notable person. There are procedures one should follow before doing mass deletions of an article. There are numerous articles on individuals dont have citations on their articles. They get a warning notice that citations are needed and the article is date stamped. Someone doesnt just come in the middle of the night and takes everything out.

BTW he might as well delete everything on the Howard Stern page and the pages of every else that work for him since they all follow the same format as this article. Chrisdab 07:02, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Um, a lot of the content Can't sleep, clown will eat me removed was definitely libelous. He made the right decision to remove it as the vast majority of it massively violated WP:BLP and was unreferenced original research. The rest was simply unencyclopedic garbage. --Coredesat 07:40, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Also, Howard Stern isn't unreferenced and doesn't appear to have these problems. --Coredesat 07:42, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Are you saying that defining the slang he uses is unencyclopedic and/or libelous? I'd call that a pretty important section of this artical. If it's not, you may as well delete all of the other articals dealing with specific slang. --JLennox 22:38, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Any one? No one? Come on, just make up a responce. --JLennox 23:14, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
More bullshit - it's just easier to delete than it is to sift through and decide what to delete and what to keep. Same thing with years and stationed worked. Nothing unencyclopediic ot libelous about that either. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.50.139.139 (talk) 01:36, 5 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I see my comments were deleted, it's easer to delete things than to actually address them. I guess if we can make some links to other sites on the internet, the information will be the gospel. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.54.131.225 (talk) 12:55, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bubba the Love Sponge Sued Over Sex Segment

An internet porn model, Hope Miller (her porn star name is Brooke Skye) is suing Bubba the Love Sponge for $150,000 over a sex segment performed on his SIRIUS Satellite Radio show back in June.

The suit alleges that Miller was forced to perform a sex act with another porn star using a sex toy - one that she claims was too big. The suit also claims that Miller wasn't informed about the stunt ahead of time, and despite her objections, Bubba berated her into continuing.
