Vinay Rai (born 18 September, 1979) is a Tulu language actor who has appeared in a high-budgeted Tamil film as well as modelling and catwalking in noted fashion shows.

Background

Vinay [1] was originally a ramp model in Bangalore, but since has now made his debut as an actor in director Jeeva's Unnale Unnale co-starring Sadha and Tanisha Mukherjee.[2] The film has become a large success upon release. He has a few future offers and all of those are from big banners. It is being rumoured that he may be cast in the remake of 1976 hit Manmadha Leelai,S. Ramakrishnan, the dialogue writer of Unnale Unnale, is also expected to direct one more movie for Oscar Films, again with Vinay as the hero. Chellamae fame Gandhi Krishna [3] is another director who might lure Vinay to his next project.

Vinay [4] is also a rugby player and has won many awards for it.

In the meantime, Vinay is said to have received a call from Mani Ratnam's Madras Talkies. Sources say that Anu Haasan, Suhasini Mani Ratnam's sister, will don the director's cap. [citation needed]
