mediawiki lies

Under Uno (game)#Action cards you can clearly see Image:Uno Skip card.jpg and Image:Uno Draw 2 card.jpg are clearly used (click on them for yourself) but their respective image page does not list Uno (game) as using the image. And your bot flagged it as orphaned when it's clearly not. Cburnett (talk) 23:25, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mediawiki indeed lies but that is all my bot has to go on. BJTalk 23:29, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps put your bot on pause until the bug can be fixed? Because right now, unless you're positive it's actually orphaned, you are just creating more work/checks that need to be done. Just an idea. Mahalo. --Ali'i 15:32, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, from what I was told by the devs it is just a backlog of the job queue. So the bot (or one of the 4 others that does the task) should remove the tag after MW catches up. BJTalk 17:17, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough... I just don't want images to be deleted because of a bug. (Well, really I would like many of these images deleted... we use "fair use" too much, but would rather the community reject them rather than have them deleted because of a MediaWiki database error.) :-) Thanks! --Ali'i 17:26, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I C WUT U DID THAR!

Mind if I borrow your House user box? --Piepie (talk) 17:41, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OH NOES USAWWUTIDIDTHAR :( (feel free, I didn't make it anyways :p) BJTalk 17:52, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You removed the photo from Template:Cilea operas even actually the photo was taken from Francesco Cilea's article. Care to explain? If the photo is not allowed, you should have removed it from the article too - a.k.a the photo shouldnt be there in a first place. But since the photo is allowed in the article, it should be allowed in other Wiki pages or templates. I hate edit warring, for that I am awaiting your reply before I undid it. Thanks - Jay (talk) 05:59, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

See WP:NFCC#9, non-free images can in some cases be used in articles but not templates. BJTalk 06:31, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedflow guy

Edit conflict there :) Just wondering about this edit - does it suggest a connection? I have one of those minds ....:) Cheers --Herby talk thyme 09:50, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I found that edit odd as well. Regardless I'm not sure iTalkBB is notable, it doesn't set off my SpamDar but I think it would be a good candidate for AfD. BJTalk 09:54, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed it was the fact that it didn't seem obvious that made me suspicious (of course I wouldn't admit something like that on wiki!). I was tracking some COI edits which I do from time to time - I'll keep an eye I think - cheers --Herby talk thyme 09:59, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
BTW?? Cheers --Herby talk thyme 10:08, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'd tag it G4 and A7 but you've got the tools. :) BJTalk 10:12, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah but I'm no expert on en wp stuff - more a wanderer :) Hadn't spotted it was a recreation - cheers --Herby talk thyme 10:22, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm clearly playing the admin game wrong. :) BJTalk 10:24, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I guess so that I don't leave you in a terribly depressed state.... I've been a cross wiki project admin for maybe 18 months now but not much activity here. I did a fair bit of work on the Meta blacklist & found - at the time - the local one had quite a bit of work & few folk doing it so I went for it on the basis I could help out (& did). There are now rather more folk dealing with it (though I still do some) but (when not on Commons which is my home wiki I guess) I tend to watch link placement across wikis.
I've always been a bit puzzled about the fuss with RfAs here - most places you do some work & show you are trusted & the community is happy. I always love the "it's no big deal" and then promptly making a big deal out of it - I tend to stay away from the hotspots & just do what I can.
As to you - you look pretty sound - 10K~ edits, no blocks, plenty of grunt work, surely you would get through? --Herby talk thyme 10:46, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Depressed? No, I'm content as is, well, deleting would come in handy for image work but that's all. RfAs here are indeed silly, too many hoops people have to go through and then the second people get +sysop they start acting human again. Last time I checked my reasons for not passing RfA are: not enough content building (not even a GA :(), I've made a few "uncivil" remarks here and there, I'm sure I've improperly CSD tagged a few pages and a few I'm missing. BJTalk 11:02, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Revert ;)

I think you deserve this! You had me worried I done something wrong for a second :D »xytram« talk 12:51, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I was trying to figure out how to open the talk page and ended up hitting revert instead. My bad. :) BJTalk 12:54, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Another BJBot task?

I noticed that BJBot takes care of incomplete IfD nominations...would it be possible for her to do the same thing for incomplete WP:PUI nominations? Kelly hi! 15:35, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, quite easily. BJTalk 18:17, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Follow up, the IfD code is dated and slow, I'm going to clean it up then file a BRFA to add to it. BJTalk 10:36, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Excellent, thanks! Kelly hi! 12:09, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Two letters and one word to explain this:
