Chick McGee (a pseudonym connected with the Jack McGee character on The Incredible Hulk) is a radio personality who appears on the Bob & Tom Show. McGee, was born November 26, 1957 in London, Ohio. He has been married to his third wife, Cathy, since November 26, 1996.

Education

Professional career

He began his career at a small 1,000-watt radio station in West Virginia and held various on-air positions at stations in West Virginia and Ohio. On April 1, 1986 Chick joined the Bob and Tom Show. In early 1995 Chick left the Bob and Tom show to become co-host of a show called "Kevin & McGee" at KGB-FM in San Diego, CA. After a short time in California, McGee returned in July, 1995 to his old job on the Bob and Tom Show. McGee was quoted as saying that he "quit, slash, was fired" from KGB-FM.

The Bob and Tom Show

  • Chick joined The Bob & Tom Show on April 1, 1986 as the show’s announcer.
  • McGee eventually expanded his duties to include sports and humor.
  • Disguised as the sports anchor, his unique contributions resonate via his “my-life-is-an-open-book” delivery.
  • Chick is the voice of Mr. Obvious on the popular feature, "The Mr. Obvious Show" which he co-created with show producer Dean Metcalf (voice of the caller).

Personal interests

  • A lifelong Washington Redskins fan (he has three Redskins tattoos), McGee has maintained the "Redskins Room" at his home. This room contains a Redskins-themed drink dispenser (received as a Christmas gift from Tom Griswold) and Redskins-themed recliners. He became an enthusiastic fan after his favorite coach, Joe Gibbs, was named head coach of the team in 1981.
  • Fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes. Will often start humming the OSU fight song when bringing up a sports story or score involving the Buckeyes.
  • Has an obsession with athletic shoes and maintains a room housing a collection of over 300 pairs.
  • One of Chick's dogs, "Mrs. Gibbs", is named after the former Washington Redskins head coach Joe Gibbs' wife, Patricia Gibbs.
  • Chick also has a Goldendoodle, named, "Emme".
  • He is a big fan of the music of Ryan Adams.
  • He has done many DIY projects with more than a few accidents, including falling through the ceiling.
  • At the beginning of each month, he says "Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit," on the air for good luck.
