Ronosen RCU

Hi Tiptoety, I noticed you moved the Ronosen RCU to 'Completed Requests', but I don't see any action taken on it. It was the second case filed for Ronosen, as I was adding User:Gayatrisavitr to the first Ronosen RCU that was completed by Alison. Maybe I filled this second one out wrong? Should I have put the new request at the bottom of the completed part? Or? Thanks, priyanath talk 01:59, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

All that moving a case to the completed section means is that a checkuser has responded and either confirmed or denied the link between the users the request was filed on. It does not mean that any action has yet been taken on the accounts. You are more than welcome to add User:Gayatrisavitr to the request by placing the username with a short explanation under Alison's note and I will gladly mark it as relisted. Let me know if I can be of any further help. Tiptoety talk 02:10, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, that's what I did, I had added User:Gayatrisavitr to the request, except I put it at the top of the section. I've now moved it under Alison's note, and you'll relist it? Or should I relist? Thanks, priyanath talk 02:29, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Great! And I will relsit it, give me a sec ;) Tiptoety talk 02:30, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! And that really was a sec.... priyanath talk 02:40, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
And thank you for all your great contributions to the project, keep it up! Let me know if there is any other way I can be of assistance. Cheers, Tiptoety talk 02:41, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just an FYI, I left a note for User:Sam Korn,[1] as the checkuser in this case. It looks like we haven't seen the end of Ronosen yet, and I'm not sure what the next step should be. Thanks again, priyanath talk 14:13, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, thanks for keeping me updated. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. Cheers, Tiptoety talk 18:15, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

IRC

Is your IRC working? KnightLago (talk) 01:49, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

:( I am not at a computer that works well with IRC and dinner is in about 3 minutes. Email works great though and I can respond via my phone (here works too if you want). Tiptoety talk 01:51, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I was going to ask if you were going to tag those socks, but enjoy your dinner and I will take care of it. KnightLago (talk) 01:53, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Eh, you are more than welcome to though I really do not see the point, I tend not to tag unless they are indef blocked (as it tends to confuse user who click on the sock template and it leads them to an active account) or have quite the RFCU history, otherwise I can just direct a user to the RFCU subpage if they really want to know who the users socks are...but more power to ya! :) Tiptoety talk 01:56, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Too late. I'll remember that for the future. KnightLago (talk) 02:05, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No worries, it really does not do any harm. Good work on the RFCU case BTW. Tiptoety talk 02:06, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tiptoety - here you moved the above request to the "completed" column. However, I'd actually just added a new request to it and relisted; is there something I should be doing with the old one (noinclude tags?) to prevent it from showing up in the transclusion? I'm not much for formatting things.

Also, knock knock. Sarcasticidealist (talk) 06:46, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Sarcasticidealist, sorry I missed you, you dropped me a note right as I was logging off. It looks like someone else already got to it, but for future reference you simply add {{subst:rfcua}} to the top and {{subst:rfcub}} to the bottom achieving your goal of having the previous case no longer transculde onto the RFCU mainpage, the thing is that is only the first step in archiving the request and the other steps are not so easy seeing as they must all be done by hand. I would be happy to walk you through the other steps or you are more than welcome to just drop me a note when you have used the archiving templates and I will just archive the request for you (I really do not mind). Oh, and "Who's there?" Tiptoety talk 01:49, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Interrupting cow. Sarcasticidealist (talk) 15:19, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Interrupting cow who? Tiptoety talk 18:17, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Shiny thing!

Haha...Thanks. I'm glad it is going to be used, and I'm sure it will be an improvement to the previous process. - Rjd0060 (talk) 03:08, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think it will make thins run far more smoothly, and hopefully reduce the amount of emails I recieve asking for acct. creator... thats always a bonus! Tiptoety talk 03:09, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Accountzero

He has announced his return on my talk page, if you're interested. Otherwise, I guess I could submit a sockpuppet report. Thanks. Rnb (talk) 03:56, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I deal with quite a few sockpuppetry cases, would you mind being a bit more specific as to which user you are referring to, and maybe provide a link to the RFCU subpage. Thanks, Tiptoety talk 03:58, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, User:Accountzero was an account you just blocked after my AIV. He created a new account User:Accountonepointfive and posted to my talk page. I can submit a sockpuppet report. Rnb (talk) 04:00, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Blocked... just keep reporting them to me as they pop up. Cheers, Tiptoety talk 04:01, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RfA thank you

Thank you!
Tiptoety, it is with deep awareness of the responsibility conferred by your trust that I am honored to report that in part to your support, my request for adminship passed (87/14/6). I deeply value the trust you and the Wikipedia community have in me, and I will embark on a new segment of my Wikipedia career by putting my new tools to work to benefit the entire community. My best to you, Happyme22 (talk) 04:41, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

Hi Tiptoety, can you help my friend?

Please see here, I'm brazilian, forgive my English and thanks for the attention.

OffsBlink (talk) 14:12, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

 Done Tiptoety talk 18:46, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure...

if this is allowed, but I received an email from User:Wrestlinglover requesting that I contact you since you were the admin that blocked him. He has stated his unblock requests and has been denied by two other admins. Not sure what the procedure is here, but I figured I'd honor his request and inquire about it anyway. Regards. Gavyn Sykes (talk) 17:26, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I will head over an comment on his talk page in regards to his block shortly. Cheers, Tiptoety talk 18:16, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Can you remove "edit summary usage" from the template because it's a dead link and "edit count" already shows the edit summary usage. Thank You. Goodvac (talk) 20:01, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please place {{editprotected}} on the talk page along with a reason for your request. This is to ensure that no one has any objections. Tiptoety talk 20:04, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Summer Time in the COTW

Hello again to those of the WikiProject Oregon Clan. Time for another new edition of Collaboration of the Week. Last week there was some good improvements to William Clark and the legendary Oregon Bottle Bill, great job to those who helped out. This week, by request is the Owyhee Reservoir, which is short enough to easily conjure up a DYK. Then, also by request is a red link elimination drive on Oregon newspapers. Feel free to help out with either. Click here to opt out of these messages, or click here to make a suggestion for a future COTW. Aboutmovies (talk) 20:34, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WP:RFPP - wrong reason

Hi Tiptoety. I believe you have stated the wrong reason here for why you've rejected temporary protection. As far as I can tell, his article is not featured on the mainpage. D.M.N. (talk) 20:56, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, looks like I made a mistake. Thanks for brining it to my attention. Tiptoety talk 21:01, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for semi-protecting it. D.M.N. (talk) 21:04, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Odd RFCU

Has an answer. MBisanz talk 22:07, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for clarifying, though unfortunately I have no advice to offer ... Tiptoety talk 22:52, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Protection of Raw Footage

Ah, thank you! Honestly, I am very thankful that you dropped by because I didn't know what the rough average protection amount is for something such as what went on at that page. So I will definitely consider what you said. Thanks so much, Happyme22 (talk) 23:14, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My response here Tiptoety talk 23:16, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

User:Yasis evading his block again.

Sorry to bother you but User:Yasis is using another IP (Special:Contributions/218.186.64.147) to resume adding his conspiracy website link to 1973 oil crisis. Thank you for your time. Cheers. L0b0t (talk) 02:46, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, I noticed and was on my way over there to issue the IP a block when Kevin beat me to it. Just keep reporting them here as they pop up. Cheers, Tiptoety talk 03:38, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yasis

So I just want to check... Now that the sock case is closed, "if" Yasis & IPs comes back (I'm pretty sure he'll be back as soon as he can), where's the most appropriate board to post to? ANI, or a different place? NJGW (talk) 04:58, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, he will come back and if he does you are more than welcome to report him to me directly via my talk page or if I am not around or you perfer another reporting method you can just open a new SSP case above the old one. What ever works best for you, Tiptoety talk 05:00, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Good hello, Yasis is back with a new IP, 218.186.65.131, Special:Contributions/218.186.65.131, IPs only edits are to revert edits I made to a South Park article and to the Artillery article. Cheers. L0b0t (talk) 09:54, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
 IP blocked Tiptoety talk 15:17, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Afds

User:Wikidas is placing number of AfD on many articles for no reasons. Can you look into the matter other wise people like you have discouraged use of Wikipedia. Bebrahmin (talk) 04:58, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That is a matter for WP:ANI. Tiptoety talk 16:18, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The IP thread you just marked as semi-protected, hasn't been. Just to expand on my view as expressed before; I don't think this should be protected for three reasons: the IP is dynamic, so will more than likely not be using that IP tomorrow, the blocked was of a limited length and not really worth doing a protection against and the vandalism seems to have ceased. Regards, Rudget (logs) 16:18, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Strange, it must have been a glitch seeing as I did in fact protect it. I guess it was just trying to tell me something.. ;) I will leave it unprotected. Tiptoety talk 16:19, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wal-Mart

Indef semi-prot, eh? Are you nuts? :-P Ten Pound Hammer and his otters(ChirpsClamsChowder) 01:28, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

blocked

Hi Admins Tiptoety and Sandstein,

I want to thank Tiptoety for affirming that my edits were non-vandalism. BTW, if possible could you please urge user:Thegreyanomaly to show me ASAP, in black and white, which "chunk of reference" were removed(not "move") by me.

I would like to show you that user:Thegreyanomaly repeatedly made false accusations on me, here are the examples:

  • "IP vandal....It didn't quite read like this"[2]

(He senselessly removed the citation I added[3] and made the above nonsense comment, I later showed and let him read the exact quote from M. Goldstein account[4], I never stop him from adding more text from the same book. For example, I clearly told him "I raise no question on your edits"[5])

  • "(removing) tonne of citation", and
  • "removing large chunks of references"[6]

After I urged him[7][8] to point it out what chunk/tonnes did he refer to, until this moment(19 July 2008) the user still shows no evidence/weblink/screenshot how I removed "tonnes of citations"

Moreover, I can read even arrogant, and of course sophomoric, comment like this:

  • "I am a CAL student"[9]

Is he/she discrminating anon users which are not CAL students? I am not sure

On South Asia's talk page where this user failed to respond, I have repeatedly warned that all edits shall come with citation per WP:CITE [10], and further urged more editors to come to this messy South Asia. I have shown you above (or here) how this user removed other's citation while hypocritically accusing other editor(s) as vandals "per Wikipedia rules", now it is his/her turn to show me how I remove chunk of reference.

I myself all along edit wikipedia per WP:CITE, WP:BOLD and WP:COOL. Please kindly review my case and provide assistance in my future edits on wikipedia articles including South Asia. Have a nice day! 219.73.86.234 (talk) 03:07, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for your comments but please understand my time is limited and at the moment I do not have enough to review your case to the extent I would like to so I am going to recommend that you try dispute resolution or ask for a third party to review your case. Cheers, Tiptoety talk 04:12, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I fully understand your situation, if you have time please come take a look at (or even monitor) this South Asia article which really really needs more editors.
My edits on wikipedia are open for you admins' guidance. Wish you a nice weekend. 219.73.86.234 (talk) 06:17, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rollbacker thanks

Thank you for the rollbacker permission. − Twas Now ( talkcontribse-mail ) 04:59, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Just wondering what the story was about the semi-protection on this article. I've asked on its talk page, because I can't quite see it from the history. Could you provide some insight? I don't like to ask for unprotection until I know why it was protected in the first place! 79.66.90.252 (talk) 10:31, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
