re: List of Nippon Professional Baseball players

Hey. Yes I am aware of this, I am the one who created the category. I was in the middle of moving the categories and had to go out for a bit, so if you check my contributions you will see I was moving them. —Borgardetalk 10:17, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You edited Ragga Twins to "remove non NPOV comment". That comment was properly sourced, do you really think it should be removed? Thanks sparkl!sm hey! 20:40, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I'm cool with that - thanks. sparkl!sm hey! 21:00, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion nominations

Drone, these were the templates about sockpuppets.
Why have they disappeared? Does someone have interests in hiding the vandalisms of that vandal? Kubura (talk) 12:56, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I see. Sorry if my reaction disturbed you.
The heat here is taking its toll. I haven't noticed the absence of "user" before the incriminated IP-address.
Thank you for your prompt reaction.
Looking forward for our further cooperation, Kubura (talk) 13:07, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Maniototo Area School‎

As far as I am aware, there is no consensus on whether schools offering secondary education are inherently notable or not. I have reverted your redirect of Maniototo Area School‎. If you do not believe that the school should have an article, I suggest you take it to AfD.-gadfium 08:58, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Secondary schools invariably survive AFD because of their status and that sources are normally available. In this case this is a historic school that merits its own page. I suggest that your time would be better spent on the thousands of elementary school sub-stubs. TerriersFan (talk) 18:27, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Schools

The fact that the guidelines on schools has not succeeded actually changes nothing since the draft had no status. AfDs have been determined for the last 12 months or so by an established practice which is:

  • High/secondary schools are kept since reliable sources are invariably available - if the sources are not in the article then that is grounds for tagging and/or improvement not deletion.
  • Primary/middle schools are generally merged/redirected to the locality (UK/Australia) and district (N.Am). The exception is when they have multiple sources or clear claims of notability (Blue Ribbon US; Grade 1 UK for example). such merging (providing they are merges not just redirects) can simply be boldly done for nn stubs.

It makes no odds to me, As long as someone categorizes them, it'll lighten the workload for everyone else. Conquistador2k6 (talk) 12:40, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

thanks from Robert Steele

am rusty. deleting the old will avoid the problem. delete Review version, I have created new Research version. Still rusty, gave up on Wikipedia for a couple of years, now enthusiastic again and try to do in conformance with local norms. RobertDavidSteeleVivas (talk) 15:12, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the redirect

I was unaware that the new article Natural History Musem Basel duplicated Natural History Museum of Basel. A search two days ago had turned up no hits. You did the redirect while I was still figuring out that one was needed! Thanks. -- ℜob ℂ. alias ⒶⓁⒶⓇⓄⒷ 16:08, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

please delete and profound thanks

Joint Publications Review Service should be deleted. Sorry I am so poor on this, have no idea what a G7 is. Did not really appreciate Wikipedia until 2005, then had very bad experiences with vandals on the OSINT page. Now I both understand how to offer stuff in discussion first, and how to use stubs to avoid too many links from one page back to the archive for all those who contributed to the one web site devoted to OSINT. Thanks again for pitching in.

I noticed that you are helping the above user, who seems intent on reposting inappropriate material. I've now blocked his username indefinitely (soft block only, can still create new account) since clearly more spam, especially as his user page was yet another recreation of this article. The article space is now unprotected, so it could be recreated, presently copyright tagged though. jimfbleak (talk) 12:20, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I suppose it was cumulative really, recreations of the company spam in article space, when that failed, posting again on his user page which has the company name (in itself grounds for indefinite username soft block). Its his company, and it's difficult to be objective when there's such an obvious coi. Thanks for your efforts, but you can't win them all. jimfbleak (talk) 14:28, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hi CulruteDrone & Jimfbleak.
Thank you for your comment.
Since Kulim (Malaysia) Berhad account has been blocked I create another account and re-create other article about Kulim (Malayia) Berhad at kulim(m)berhad page for your consideration replace the block site of Kulim (Malaysia) Berhad.
I hope that article will be accepted to publish. Thank You

God's Playground

Hello, I would now like to consider removing the deletion notice from this article as I feel the conversation has reached its conclusion i.e. no new comments have been made recently. I feel that, although there are some suggested deletions, these do not outweigh the keeps. If everyone had voted to delete then I would be OK with it but this has not been the case. This is an interesting case you have brought to my attention. I have spent a good amount of time sifting through these articles that the template presents. I see what you mean. The Ariakon SIM-5 article is written slightly like an advert. After looking solely at this article I was thinking maybe a simple re-write to get rid of the biased language would do the trick. But, I remembered the template that you mentioned, and had a look at some of the other articles. Some are rather badly written. On one, someone who had read the article posted a message on the talkpage, saying that they still did not understand what the article was getting at. Some of the references are a bit dodgy I think, like links to review websites, that are always biased anyway. So I surfed the net, trying to find some more reliable sources of information, but sadly, they don't seem to be as notable as I initially thought, with most hits coming from forums, and shopping websites. Providing the articles with proper references would be thus very difficult, and removing POV would leave some of the articles as tiny stubs I think. POV seems to have resulted from a lack of sufficient information to fill an article with. This really needs a collaborative discussion, but again, this seems to be a remote part of Wikipedia, and the articles haven't been allocated into any Wikiprojects. In light of this, I would suggest merging the whole lot into a main article. This fulfills the purpose of an encyclopedia better. And it's easier access to the required information. One main article, with sections with a paragraph on each should be sufficient. But the references are a problem still. Maybe someone who knows a lot about these type of paintball guns will be able to come up with some reliable sources? Then a merge is my way forward. Lradrama 16:57, 22 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hodgkinsonite

Hi CultureDrone! I made a small article about a mineral called Hodgkinsonite. Here's the link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hodgkinsonite Could you edit please? Thanks! Neptunekh (talk) 18:17, 22 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding Ariakon SIM-5

Of course I remember you! Yeah, Twinkle was one of my firsts good experiences with my new Mozilla Firefox.

The article doesn't seem to be blatant advertising, but it really doesn't comply with WP:N standarts, since no assertion of notability (such as independent non-trivial media coverage) has been made. Maybe you should really propose its deletion. It takes five days for the article to be deleted (from the moment you ad the PROD template), so you'll probably have time to see if other people disagree. Keep in mind that even the creator of the article is allowed to remove the PROD template, if he/she feels the article is not a candidate for deletion. A reason for removing the template should be provided, which is often not done, and unfortunately that's allowed. They say if the PROD template is removed, the article should be listed at Articles for Deletion. And don't worry, I'll always find a couple of hours to check things at Wikipedia. Greek text pages

Hi there. You can tag all the pages you just added for translation with db-band. A google translation came up with a non-notable band from Crete. A spam warning might even be in order for the author. De728631 (talk) 09:16, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

school articles

Thank you for the policy update and for adding the blue ribbon information to my article. I understand what you are saying however it does not fully explain why many similar articles about elementary schools (and without "notable" qualities) currently exist. If anything these articles are tagged as "stubs", requesting users to contribute to their expansion. There doesn't appear to be any rationale explaining the existence of such articles in spite of the rules/policy you have expressed. . . therefore, in all fairness, my articles have equal validity as well. please advise--Geezalou (talk) 07:34, 28 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. It makes more sense knowing there is indeed some sort-of review of existing articles occurring. Thanks!--Geezalou (talk) 07:57, 28 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RE: not more stubs

Na, nothing as selfish as that! I'm working on getting a list of Stewards of the Manor of Northstead up to FL status. According to the criteria you need a minimal amount of redlinks; i've so far written 60 articles. Some are stubs, some are quite large things (for me anyway) such as Charles Jocelyn Hambro.
