"The Ballads" is a compilation album by American pop/R&B singer Mariah Carey.[1][2] No new song or promotional single to promote this compilation was made.The album was released in Italy on October 17, 2008, in the UK and Ireland on October 20, 2008, and in South Korea on October 21, 2008[citation needed].It will be released in Australia on November 3, 2008, in Japan on November 26, 2008, and in USA and Canada in January 2009.

The Ballads Deluxe Edition includes bonus material of never before digitally released remixes and live video performances.[3]

About the album

The album contains some of Mariah Carey's old-songs and hit singles. No songs or singles of her last two albums, The Emancipation of Mimi and E=MC² are included.
