official webpages

Thanks for that.

The actual websites should follow suit of the official ant and dec website and Joe calzaghes official site, so hopefully they will be very good.

It would be good to have the official web link pointing to the holding site as alot of fans do wish to know what is going on regarding their actual webpages but I understand that this is not a viable policy of wikipedia and I will respect the rules! (I cant be blacklisted on my first week as an editor!!)

No problem. They do take a while to get you head around. --GraemeL (talk) 16:56, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Talkin' Baseball

Many thanks for the block. I'm going to see what I can do about cleaning up the page as well. -Dewelar (talk) 00:21, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. Good luck with the cleanup. --GraemeL (talk) 00:25, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My Rfa

GraemeL, thank you very much for participating in my Rfa, which was successful with 80 Support, 5 Oppose, 6 Neutral. The comments were overwhelming, and hopefully I can live up to the expectation of the community.

I would also like to thank my nominator Realist2 and my co-nom Orane (talk), and special mention to Acalamari and Lenticel (talk) for the kindness from the start. Regards, Efe

Hi Graeme,

I was adding URL's to external links of a couple of celebrity wiki pages and when added, there was the symbol of a lock beside them, which when i clicked on the link meant that IE recommended that it wasnt a trusted site. The sites are trusted as they have been set up by the official development team. How can these locks be removed?

One example would be Stephen Mulherns external links.

Thanks

You're adding secure links by starting the URL with https. I looked at your recent contributions and found one that you're talking about. Firefox reports: The certificate is only valid for www.iviva.com. You will need to get your server admins to fix the problem by gettting and installing the correct certificates for the domain. This is a problem with your site, not with Wikipedia. You might also try using non-encrypted http links. --GraemeL (talk) 15:13, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Graeme. Why do you think it is appropriate to have the links to Karen Pryors website clickertraining.com? They are a commercial site that makes hundreds of thousands of dollars on clickertraining, products, seminars, workshops? I added another school that actually trains and certifies people in electronic clicker training as another resource. Please tell me the difference?

Thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by Phoenixauthor (talkcontribs) 23:04, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The fact that there are other commercial links is neither here nor there. They will be cleaned up eventually. You adding new commercial links is not acceptable. --GraemeL (talk) 23:08, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Graeme,

Thanks for your reply. I have a couple questions. I have my own business. I have a friend in Madison who has a business. His business is listed (article) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glass_Nickel_Pizza_Company on this site.

How do I get an article about my business on this site, without violating guidelines?

Question #2 I am a celebrity dog trainer like Cesar Millan and Brian Kilcommons, who both have articles on this site, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cesar_Millan and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_Kilcommons

How do I promote myself like they have?

I appreciate your help Phoenixauthor (talk) 23:30, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It all depends on if you can meet the corporate notability guidelines. I'll drop you some links on your talk page. --GraemeL (talk) 23:34, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

LOL! Thanks, I needed that :D J.delanoygabsadds 00:00, 22 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. Broken markup seriously clogs the tubes. ;-) --GraemeL (talk) 00:02, 22 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Portal:Beer

Hi there. Can you take a look at the external links on Portal:Beer? If I start trimming, it's liable to end up a linkectomy. It would be better if somebody with some knowledge in the subject tidied it up. The portal doesn't seem to have any active editors from what I can see. --GraemeL (talk) 20:14, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've done a bit of plastic surgery. There's a couple of home-brewing websites I'm doubtful about, but left for now. I've certainly cut out the commercial sites, and the self-promotion sites. The bulk of what is left are acknowledged useful and widely used sites. I added BJCP, even though there are some beer Wikipedians who hate any mention of BJCP. But the site is hugely influential, and needs to be included. Thanks for the heads up! SilkTork *YES! 01:08, 22 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Oh, I added my 70/- worth to your RfA too. Keep up the good work. --GraemeL (talk) 13:17, 22 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

SpineSix

Graemel,

I just tried another stab at a very generic definition of SpineSix Please have a look and let me know if this is acceptable.

Thanks,

Riki--Medicepts (talk) 15:25, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As an article, that would be probably be deleted as it has no references and no context. It may just get by as a stub. Try taking a look at some other articles related to the subject to get an idea of what you should be working towards. --GraemeL (talk) 15:57, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

.. anti-spam ..

Hi GraemeL! I see you make often use of the RevertList of XLinkBot. I wondered if you have access to IRC, we do see spam being added in almost real time, but don't have the hands available to react to all of it. Hope you could give a hand there! In any case, thanks for all the help! --Dirk Beetstra T C 15:47, 25 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ha, about half my edits have been sorting out mistakes I made in not adding to the log and then formatting of them. I do have access to IRC and will probably monitor the spam channel if I'm not otherwise busy. I think I've sorted out my log additions now, you might want to have a quick check and let me know if there is anything still wrong with them. --GraemeL (talk) 15:51, 25 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Last time I checked your additions, all seemed fine. Hope to see you around in #wikipedia-spam-t (the en-spam talk channel), we'll guide you around from there. --Dirk Beetstra T C 15:58, 25 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Algarve

Please stop removing the links in the Algarve article, they are links to well known and useful websites about the Algarve, it's NOT advertisement. You obviously know nothing or know little about the Algarve, but I live here and I know better. Leave this part to those who know. The links I'm adding are of value to the community.
