The 2009 Cleveland Browns season will be the franchise's 63rd season as a franchise and was the team's 59th season as a member of the NFL. The Browns will look to improve upon their 4-12 record and 4th place finish in the AFC North from 2008. They will have a new head coach, as Romeo Crennel was fired after the 2008 season. The Browns will play oll of their home games at Cleveland Browns Stadium.

On December 28, 2008, just hours after the Browns' final game of the 2008 season, it was announced that general manager Phil Savage would be fired by the Browns. [1]

The Browns do not have a third[2], fifth[3], or seventh[4] round selection. The exact number of their fourth and sixth selections are not known because of compensatory selections yet to be awarded.
