Dill Mill Gayye is an Indian television series that airs on STAR One channel from every Monday - Thursday at 8:30PM IST. It is the sequel of the television series Sanjivani, which aired on STAR Plus channel. Dill Mill Gayye is a show aimed at urban educated youth. The series is set in "Sanjeevani Hospital", dealing with the lives of young & inexperienced doctors.It is a semi-sequel to Sanjivani

Concept

Dill Mill Gayye is a show aimed at the urban educated youth. Set in the backdrop of a hospital it deals with the pressures, the drama, the romance, the inter personal relationships and humour in the lives of young doctors. Keeping the environment of a hospital in mind, the characters of the show are real, their issues are believable and the approach is dramatic, but never unreal, albeit emotional and fun filled.

Main characters

Dr Shashank Gupta Played by Mohnish Behl
He is one of the character to return from the prequel Sanjivani . He is head of Sanjeevani Hospital and father of Riddhima and Anjali. He finds out about the relationship of Riddhima and Armaan and doesn't except it until he finds out that both of them have not been eating for days.

Dr Riddhima Gupta originally played by Shilpa Anand replaced by Sukirti Kandpal now replaced by Jennifer Winget
Riddhima is a warm hearted, kind and good-natured girl. The single most important thing in her life is to make her father proud of her achievements. She is intelligent and modern in her outlook on life, and yet respects and represents all the core Indian values. She is going to get married to Armaan.

Dr. Armaan Mallik Played by Karan Singh Grover
22 year old Armaan represents the new age man; one who is self confident, efficient, cheeky, but yet a kind person at heart. He is also extremely handsome with sharply built six pack abs. He is known for showing off his body in the various episodes of Dill Mill Gaye by wearing vests and through his shirtless scenes. However, his professional life is very important to him.However,he later on falls in love with Ridhima .His life is surrounded around her. He is going to get married to Riddhima. He is the one who solves every problem of his friends and even Sanjeevani.

Dr. Anjali Gupta Played by Sunaina Gulia
Anjali at 22, she's Shashank's older daughter and is used to having her way. Extremely beautiful, she is quiet conscious of her looks and not above using them. She is manipulative and conniving. She is a good doctor in her own right, though she is never a favourite amongst the patients, owing to her to-the-point attitude. However, as the story progresses, her character becomes more positive and she starts understanding the values of relationships. Dr. Atul Joshi falls in love with Anjali, but she always ignores his feelings.

Dr. Atul Joshi Played by Pankit Thakker
Atul is the best guy friend a girl can ever have, without ever making him a real boyfriend. He is a good natured, easy going boy, who has become a doctor to fulfill the wish of his dead father. His father worshiped Sanjeevani and Shashank Gupta and he has come to pay his tribute to the man who adopted him. He falls in love with Anjali, and currently is trying to impress her as much as he can.

Dr. Sapna Shah Played by Muskaan Mehani
She left the popular soap in late January , 2008. She was the friend of all the interns and in some ways she plays the mediator in the show. She fell for the senior doctor in Sanjeevani, Dr.Shubankar, but it did not work out. She ended up marrying Amit who was her friend and left the show after her wedding episode. 

Dr. Rahul Grewal   Played by Mayank Anand

He is a smart, once-ugly new intern from Sanjeevani Amritsar. He was in college with his colleague Armaan. Upon entering Sanjeevani, Mumbai, he starts to develop feelings for Riddhima, but they vanish. He has always disliked Muskaan, but gradually as they have to prove they're married to get money, he starts falling in love with Muskaan.

Dr. Muskaan Chadda Played by Drushti Dhami
Muskaan is a typical, Punjabi chatter box which is very entertaining. She was also a new intern from Sanjeevani, Amritsar. When entering Sanjeevani, Mumbai, she starts to fall for Armaan but the storyline changes. She has also always hated Rahul but after their fake marriage, she starts to develop feelings for him too.

Dr Nikita Malhotra Played by Shweta Gulati
Nikita is the new, hot intern in Sanjeevani. She is revealed as Armaan's best friend from college times. However, she had left years ago without informing anyone and now after coming back, she finds that Armaan and Riddhima are very happy together. She helps them both to hide their relationship, showing she's Armaan's girlfriend. Secretly, she has feelings for Armaan and wants to tell him, but she knows that Armaan only loves Riddhima. Her feelings for Armaan are obvious to Dr. Abhimanyu Modi, but she tries to deny them.

Dr. Abhimanyu Modi Played by Amit Tandon
Dr. Abhimanyu Modi is now the incharge of Sanjeevani. He has recently entered the show and is a senior doctor at the hospital. After Sanjeevani was in a great financial mess, he was sent by the Board of Directors to solve the problems. None of the doctors and interns liked him at all. After a "Save Sanjeevani Concert", he starts falling for Riddhima but slowly these feelings disappear. Now, he has started to fall in love with Dr. Nikita Malhotra.

Secondary characters

Dr. Shubhankar
He is the head cardiologist of Sanjeevani and is very dedicated and efficient in his work. He lost his wife in an accident and was depressed about it, but in a period of time, he recovered from it. He has a small bubbly daughter - Navnita. He likes Keerti a lot, but feels shy to tell her. Finally, when he reveals his feelings to her, she accepts him and they are going to get married soon.

Dr. Keerti Mehra
She is the strict disciplinarian who gives her interns their duties and is very good in her work. She does not tolerate interns' mistakes. She is strict but caring. She is dismissed from Sanjeevani by Dr. Abhimanyu Modi. And Now back. She is going to get married to Dr. Shubhankar.

Nani
She is Dr. Smriti's mother and is very sweet, loving and caring. She loves Ridhima and Anjali a lot. She knows that Shashank has feelings for Padma and as she lost her daughter, and she wants someone to take care of Shashank, Ridhima and Anjali. Hence, she and Anjali are matchmakers for Padma and Shashank.

Padma Gupta
She was the head nurse of Sanjivani and also is Ridhima's birth mother. She quit her job when she married Shashank. She is very loving, caring, sweet and good at heart. She has placed herself as a family member of the Gupta family now. Shilpa Tulskar is now replaced by Mohnish Behl's real wife.

Sister Lovely
Sister Lovely is a funny nurse that is in love with two if the the interns, Dr. Atul Joshi and Dr. Rahul Grawal and now finally with Dr. Abhimanyu Modi. She is loved by everyone in the hospital and everybody knows that one day she will find the right guy!
