SEMI-RETIRED
This user is no longer very active on Wikipedia.

Hello to all, I finally came out of my semi-hiding (November 17, 2005). I assumed the Username GoodDay as my moniker. Well anyway, now that I've overcome my initial shyness, I'll tell you who I am.

I'm an Average Joe, who has answers & questions, eager to learn, I want to pick your brain and have you pick mine. I'm in my 30s with slightly greying hair, and live on Prince Edward Island, in Canada Canada (that's not why I have grey hair).

I'm a direct descendant of Germain Doucet (to be exact, I'm one of his great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandchildren). I learnt martial arts from watching Ralph Furley.

It's quite possible (though I'll never confirm it), that I'm not of this world (Earth). I might be an alien scout, sent here to observe human behaviours.

As I'm semi-retired, I'll be appearing on Wikipedia daily for (up to) 2 hours.

I consider myself an average lover. No standing ovations, but no hysterical laughter.

"Hello, room service? Send me up a larger room"

Only one graduate that year, refused to stand for GSTQ. Guess who.

The Golden Rules

I'm a staunch opponent of 'Edit Warring'. If you disagree with an edit, discuss it at its proper place -the corresponding Discussion page of the respective article-. I myself had gotten close to an 'edit war' (months ago) at Wikipedia: WikiProject Ice Hockey, and found it brought out the 'worst' in me (I've since apologized for my hysterics). What 'edit wars' do is:
1- Causes articles to be unstable, thus hurting Wikipedia's image in the eyes of visitors -seeking information- or just browsing;
2- Gets articles locked, which hurts innocent editors;
3- Gets good faith editors 'blocked' for 3RR violations (though blockings are deserved)
4- Flows into corresponding 'Discussion page' causing 'emotional debates'.

Religious beliefs

As an atheist, I've no religious beliefs. However, I respect people's religious beliefs; so I try not to badger anyone. George Carlin's views on Religions match mine. I find the wealthy William A. Donohue, entertaining.

Diacritics on English Wikipedia

I'm against the over-usage of Diacritics on English Wikipedia.

At the risk of being 'rightfully' blocked? I've placed a gag-order on myself, concerning dios on NHL team articles. It stinks when you're in the minority.

I'm a republican

Though my award below may seem otherwise. I'm a republican - Canada should have an elected Head of State; so enough of these doll house games. Rideau Hall would make a splendid residence for a Canadian President. Let's have the American system & get out of the past & into the future. Oh alright, an European republican system will do.

Movie/TV Bloopers

  • Star Wars Episode VI (1983) - Leia remembered her real mother, yet Luke didn't. Was the force truly with Luke?
  • Braveheart (1995) - Simply too many historical bloopers.
  • 1950's TV - It was alright for men to be in the same bed; but not a man & woman?
  • Scrooge (1951) - If Scrooge's mother died giving him birth, where did his younger full sister Fan, come from?
  • The Flintstones (1960-66) - After the pet cat (who was never seen during the episodes) threw Fred out of the house. Why didn't Fred simply crawl through the window hole, to get back in?
  • Star Wars series (1977 to 2005) - It took at least 18-years to construct the 1st Death Star. Yet, only 6-years to (nearly) complete the 2nd (much larger) Death Star. Oh course, the 2nd DS may have already been in construction, long before the destruction of the 1st DS.
  • Star Trek TOS (1966-69) - In the episode 'the Enemy Within', why didn't the Enterprise send a shuttle down, to rescue the Sulu away-team? Actual reason, the series creators hadn't completed construction of the shuttles (plus naturally, it would've destroyed the story)
  • The Tudors - Henry VIII of England, with black hair?
  • The Flintstones (again) - How the heck did Fred & Wilma conceive Pebbles? Afterall, they slept in seperate beds. PS: A similiar question goes for all those 'family shows' where Mother & Father slept in seperate beds.
  • The Waltons (1972-81) - In an earlier episode (via narration) Grandma (Esther) Walton was said to have predeceased Grandpa (Zeb) Walton. Later (due to actor Will Geer's death, in 1978), the show had Grandpa Walton predeceasing Grandma Walton.
  • Rocket Robin Hood - Little John's constant changing of his eyes & hair cut, during each episode (via animation inconsistancy)
  • Happy Days (1974-84) & Family Matters (1989-98) - Whatever happen to Chuck Cunningham & Judy Winslow. The former went off to basketball pratice & the latter went upstairs to her bedroom. Neither were heard from or seen since. (spooky).
  • Mr Dressup (1967-96) - Casey was always 4 & half years old & Finnegan couldn't bark.
  • Superman IV (1987) - Nuclear Man carries a hostage (a woman) into space. Having no space suit (just her buisness suit), how the heck did she survive?
  • Psycho II (1983) - Lila Loomis' daughter (Mary) must have either been adopted, or her father was an oriental.

Religion & Aliens

Why does News Media, play spooky (mocking, IMHO) music when covering alien stories (thus making fun of them). Yet, don't dare do the same, when covering religious stories.
