Nathan is a masculine given name. It is derived from Hebrew נתן meaning [God] has given [1] (standard Hebrew Natan, Yiddish Nussen or Nosson, Tiberian Hebrew Nāṯān). Familiar forms of Nathan used in English include Nat, Nath (pronounced nay-th) and Nate.
