Nominate your article for Good Article?
Hello - I ran across your article about International Monetary Systems while patrolling the new pages backlog. It's a lovely article, much better than many that have been here for years, and I would like to nominate it for Good Article review. Is that all right with you? If I don't hear from you in a few days, I'll go ahead and nominate it. Alice (talk) 13:00, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
- Hello! What a kind thing to say! i'll clean up some of the citations and stuff. xx FeydHuxtable (talk) 10:11, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

Big welcome to the article rescue squadron
Hi, FeydHuxtable, welcome to the Article Rescue Squadron! We are a growing community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to identifying and rescuing articles that have been tagged for deletion. Every day hundreds of articles are deleted, many rightfully so. But many concern notable subjects and are poorly written, ergo fixable and should not be deleted. We try to help these articles quickly improve and address the concerns of why they are proposed for deletion. This covers a lot of ground and your help is appreciated!
If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the talk page, and we will be happy to help you. And once again - Welcome! Ikip (talk) 19:26, 20 April 2009 (UTC) |
FeydHuxtable, if you need any help at all, please let me know. Happy to see you as a new member! Ikip (talk) 19:26, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the welcome! Im impressed with how you guys operate. ARS seems to be the place to be and to be seen at :-) FeydHuxtable (talk) 10:39, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
For this diff, I thank you. It's sad that when someone pre-judges something as non-notable, they do not try as hard as they might per WP:BEFORE to determine if they might be mistaken. I am glad to have been able to help. Best, Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 19:50, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
If you have time, I'd appreciate your looking in at Horror film genre-specifc reliable sources and either advising or contributing. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 21:26, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
Bilateral AfDs
I'm really not sure about your copy and pasting at bilateral AfDs. it is not a strong keep because you provide zero reasons for how it is notable. in a few times, closing admins have ignored your comments such as Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Greece–Zambia relations and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Albania–Estonia relations. LibStar (talk) 11:43, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
- I appreciate the thought, and yes, certainly some relations are notable - you don't see me making indiscriminate nominations - but other simply are not, for lack of significant coverage. - Biruitorul Talk 17:15, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
- Im glad you're saying at least some are noteable, some of your crew seem to want to delete every single one! FeydHuxtable (talk) 17:35, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

- Wikipedia:WikiProject International relations/Bilateral relations task force/Deletion looks like it will really help save some of these articles. The task is so big we need to be as efficient as possible! FeydHuxtable (talk) 18:15, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
- Since I am required to contact everyone on our task force list, to avoid a canvassing accusation, I contacted quite a lot of editors who delete too.
- The name has changed, so you may want to update this. Ikip (talk) 18:17, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

Hi, FeydHuxtable, and welcome to WikiProject Bilateral relations! We are a growing community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to identifying, categorizing, and improving articles relevant to the relations between two countries. If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the talk page, and we will be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We hope you enjoy working on this project. Ikip (talk) 05:08, 5 May 2009 (UTC) |
Welcome to the project. Hope you don't mind all these messages. I just noticed I have many of them recently. Ikip (talk) 05:08, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
Thank you For your supportive words at WP:Article Rescue Squadron I also share your concerns, and look forward to your continued efforts. Ikip (talk) 20:33, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
- You're welcome, its hard to understand why some are so passionate about deleting verifiable, useful and popular stuff from the encylocpeadia. FeydHuxtable (talk) 08:39, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- Well sorting through this stuff I wouldn't go that far as calling it very useful :) But I am also confused about the passion. Ikip (talk) 15:14, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
Helping new editors
You maybe interested in this: User_talk:Granite_thump#Courtesy_notice:_You_are_being_discussed_at_ARS I am not sure what happened, but this editor may need more veteran editors to help him out. If you have a second, take a minute to say hello, and offer your support, if you have not already. Ikip (talk) 22:05, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
I saw this AfD, which caught my interest, then got side-tracked into mini-bios of Irish participants in the Colombian wars of independence: James Towers English, James Rooke, William Aylmer and Francisco Burdett O'Connor, then further side-tracked to Mariano Montilla and Pedro Antonio Olañeta. John Devereux (con artist) and Francisco Tomás Morales are obvious gaping holes, and I suppose others will appear. But to go back to the AfD, now in day 6, any comments? Aymatth2 (talk) 23:42, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
Thank you for your support
Unfortunately, my RFA was closed recently with a final tally of 75½/38/10. Though it didn't succeed, I wanted to thank you for your support and I hope I can count on it in the future. Even though it didn't pass, it had a nearly 2 to 1 ratio of support and I am quite encouraged by those results. I intend to review the support, oppose, and neutral !votes and see what I can do to address those concerns that were brought up and resubmit in a few months. If you would like to assist in my betterment and/or co-nominate me in the future, please let me know on my talk page. Special thanks go to Schmidt, MICHAEL Q., TomStar81, and henrik for their co-nominations and support. — BQZip01 — talk |
Bilateral Project
I saw you took yourself off the Bilateral relations task force. These AfD's are rather depressing sometimes - a lot of editors seem to want to remove articles on the basis that they don't think the subject is interesting, regardless of the amount of well-sourced content. But some of them, such as Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Abkhazia-Germany relations are quite amusing if you look at them from a certain point of view. Anyway, have fun editing in other areas. Aymatth2 (talk) 13:37, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks, yes you dug up some fascinating facts for some of these. I might still edit the odd article, have just given up on the idea of getting policy changed for this area. FeydHuxtable (talk) 15:46, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
Shameless thankspam
FlyingToaster Barnstar
Hello FeydHuxtable! Thank you so much for your support in my recent RfA, which passed with a tally of 126/32/5. I am truly humbled by the trust you placed in me, and will endeavor to live up to that trust. FlyingToaster
- Im sorry my intervention on BN doesnt seem to have helped much. I should have maybe made 1 or 2 supporting comments but not engaged in debate , not said anything negative about the other side and just trusted you to handle it in your much more diplomatic way.
