This is the discography of American rock band Fall Out Boy. The band has released five studio albums, three EPs, sixteen singles, fifteen music videos, and one live DVD.
Fall Out Boy was formed in Wilmette, Illinois in early 2001 by friends Joe Trohman and Pete Wentz.[1] Patrick Stump was brought in as the lead singer, and two other Chicago musicians were recruited to play drums and guitar. The following year, the band debuted with a self-released demo and followed it up with Split EP, which featured Project Rocket, on Uprising Records. The group released a mini-LP, Fall Out Boy's Evening Out with Your Girlfriend, also on Uprising Records, in 2003.[2] After the release of their mini-album, Andy Hurley, formerly of Racetraitor, joined the band and Stump picked up guitar, while the two other Chicago musicians left.[3] The same year, after signing to Fueled by Ramen, they released their first full-length album, Take This to Your Grave.[4] The album sold very well and eventually achieved Gold status.[5]
In mid-2003, the band signed with Island Records. This was after they picked up the option for their next album. In the meantime of recording their mainstream debut for Island, they released the acoustic EP with DVD My Heart Will Always Be the B-Side to My Tongue on Fueled by Ramen, in 2004. It debuted at #153 on the Billboard 200, their first such entry on the chart.[6] In mid-2005, they released their major label debut, From Under the Cork Tree,[2] which went double platinum. The third album, titled Infinity on High, was released in early-2007. In the album's opening week, it reached #1 on the Billboard 200, selling 260,000 copies.[7]The latest album, Folie à Deux, was released in December 2008, selling 150,000 copies in its first week and was certified gold by RIAA. They have sold more than 12 million copies worldwide.
