Appearance
The 2010 FIFA World Cup qualification UEFA Group 1 is a UEFA qualifying group for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The group comprises 2006 fourth-place finishers Portugal, along with Sweden, Denmark, Hungary, Albania and Malta.

- Qualification
- Albania and Malta are eliminated.
On the next matchday (9 September):
- Denmark will qualify for the World Cup if:
- they defeat Albania AND Hungary lose to Portugal AND Sweden do not defeat Malta.
- Denmark will ensure at least 2nd place and a place in the UEFA play-offs if:
- they defeat Albania AND:
- Hungary lose to Portugal, OR
- Sweden do not defeat Malta.
- they defeat Albania AND:
- Sweden will be able to qualify only via the UEFA play-offs if:
- they do not defeat Malta AND Denmark defeat Albania, OR
- they lose to Malta AND Denmark draw with Albania AND Hungary defeat Portugal.
- Portugal will be able to qualify only via the UEFA play-offs if:
- they lose to Hungary, OR
- Denmark defeat Albania, OR
- they draw with Hungary AND:
- Denmark draw with Albania, OR
- Sweden defeat Malta.
- Malta will be certain of 6th place (ensuring their results do not count for the second-placed teams ranking) if
- They fail to beet Sweden, OR
- Albania beet Denmark
