"21st Century Breakdown"
Song

"21st Century Breakdown" is a song written and recorded by the American punk rock band Green Day. It is the third single and title track from the group's eighth studio album, 21st Century Breakdown. The single is set to be released to the world (except the US and UK, which receive East Jesus Nowhere) on October 19, 2009.[2] A music video was also confirmed on the official Green Day website. It was also stated that Marc Webb would direct the video.[3]

Billie Joe Armstrong told Billboard that this song, "is sort of about growing up in a working-class family, and what that represents in a financial crisis and how everyone feels paralyzed and frightened right now." [4]
