April Wine is a Canadian rock band formed in Nova Scotia, in 1969, by Myles Goodwyn (lead singer/guitar), David Henman (guitar), Richie Henman (drums), and Jim Henman (bass). They moved to Montreal, where they were signed by Aquarius Records. After their first album, Jim Henman quit, and was replaced by Jim Clench. During the recording of Electric Jewels, David and Richie Henman quit, to be replaced by Gary Moffet and Jerry Mercer. After Stand Back, Jim Clench was replaced by Steve Lang. Starting with First Glance, Brian Greenway was added as another guitar.

They are well known for their deep bass sounds, and their hit songs such as "I Like to Rock", "Sign of the Gypsy Queen" and "Bad Side of the Moon". Many of their songs continue to earn airplay on Canadian classic rock radio stations.
