Animal studies

Hi, perhaps you could explain on the talk page some of the changes you made, especially involving the removal of content. cheers, Rd232 talk 15:00, 17 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Reply to Animal studies

Hello. I removed content because my supervisor wanted to present a distinction between animal studies and human-animal studies. Not knowing how to do that originally, I removed all the content originally set up. But now there is content up there, describing animal studies as the scientific use of animals in laboratory research. I apologize for the confusion.Ayarbrou (talk) 22:34, 19 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Seeking consensus

I am seeking consensus on the issues of Animal studies, Animality Studies and Critical animal studies. These three articles appear to cover branches of the same topic, and should be merged. As an author who has been involved in the creation of these articles, I request your opinion in this matter. Please answer at my talk page so that the discussion can be centralized in one place. Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, but at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Animal studies, did not appear to be constructive and has been automatically reverted by ClueBot.

Please stop

After my request for consensus (above) regarding the various animal studies pages, you have gone ahead and created yet another article. As all of these articles cover various aspects of the same topic, a single article is needed so that there is a single place for editors to provide a consensus article about the topic. Failure to do so is known as content forking, and generally leads to article deletions. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 19:03, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Explanation

I apologize for making so many pages. I was under orders to create those pages and eliminate confusion. The reason why I changed the "Animal studies" page and created the "Human-animal studies" page was to make a distinction between the two. My supervisor felt it was absolutely crucial to make sure the differences between them were understood. It's been a really stressful process for me. Animal studies is commonly used by scholars in the social sciences and humanities as being synonymous with human-animal studies, but historically and even today, animal studies is used to refer to scientific studies that involve the use of animals in laboratory research. So my supervisor wanted to eliminate the confusion, and he insists there is a large distinction between critical animal studies and human-animal studies.Ayarbrou (talk) 22:35, 19 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
