CFEX-FM is a new modern rock station serving Calgary, Alberta, Canada. In 2006, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) approved a licence for Harvard Broadcasting to start a new FM station. [1]

X92.9 went on the air January 1, 2007 at midnight with a live to air performance with Hot Hot Heat. The on-air lineup debuted one week later on January 8. The station is also home to a "No Nickelback Guarantee".[2] The station's slogan is "Calgary's New Rock Alternative".

X92.9 currently features a morning show with humorous conversation, current events coverage, and commentary. The hosts are Fraser Tuff, Roger Kingkade and Candice Knihnitski. "The Show" runs from 6-10AM.

Lynch - Weekdays 2PM-6PM
Greg Beharrell rules - Weekday evenings 6PM-10:30PM (Friday 6PM-12AM)

James Callsen, also known to listeners as Newsboy, is the news director.

Xposure is a weekly indie music show which runs for one hour Sundays at 6PM, hosted by Malissa Dunphy, focusing on Canadian independent artists, with an emphasis on the Calgary scene.

Project Punk is an hour of punk music hosted by Darren Ollinger on Sunday nights at 7PM.

X92.9 studios on 17th Avenue

Loveline is a syndicated program which runs Sundays through Thursdays from 11PM to 1AM. The show is hosted by KROQ's Stryker and Dr. Drew Pinsky, along with celebrity guests from music, television, movies and more. It's an open-line show focused on sex education, with a humorous bent. X92.9 has a streetside studio at the corner of 17th Avenue and 2nd Street in SW Calgary in an area known as The Red Mile. Listeners can watch the DJs and assorted guests through very large windows.

X92.9 occasionally hosts X Sessions where a band will perform exclusively for listeners at The Beach Studios. Some of the artists who've done X Sessions include Queens of the Stone Age, Silversun Pickups, The New Pornographers, Taking Back Sunday, Strata, Attack in Black, Tokyo Police Club, Wintersleep and Ill Scarlett.
