Danielle Riley Keough (born May 29, 1989) known as Riley Keough, is an American actress and model. She is the daughter of singer/songwriter Lisa Marie Presley and Danny Keough, and the oldest grandchild of Elvis and Priscilla Presley.[1]
Career
Model
Riley Keough began her modeling career at the age of 12, when she was asked to appear in a campaign for Tommy Hilfiger. In 2004 the fashion world took notice when famed photographer Annie Leibovitz, shot her for the cover of Vogue alongside her iconic mother, Lisa Marie and grandmother, Priscilla. An invitation from Dolce & Gabbana to attend their fall fashion show in Milan followed which ignited a media firestorm. [citation needed] By the age of 15, Keough was signed to IMG Models in Paris, and Storm Models in New York and had already been the face of David Yurman jewelry collection, along with Kate Moss and Amber Valletta. In 2005, Riley did a print campaign and TV commercial for Miss Dior Cherie perfume which was directed by John Galliano. That same year, she signed a well publicized contract with Christian Dior and has appeared in campaigns for the fashion brand which lasted 4 seasons. In her short career, Riley has worked with some top world photographers including Nick Knight, Russell James, Mario Sorrenti, Peter Lindbergh, Rankin and Aurthur Elgort. She has quickly become a fashion darling and top model. She has apeared in Vogue, Elle, Vanity Fair, Teen Vogue, Jalouse, W, Nylon and more. Riley has done a clothing campaign for Mango in Spain, 2009. Also, she is signed to Elite Model Management in New York City.[1]
Actress
In June 2009, Keough began working on the Joan Jett film "The Runaways", her debut film.
On March 7, 2010, Riley completed production on the movie The Good Doctor along with Orlando Bloom, it will be released in late 2010.
Personal life
She has one full-blooded brother, Benjamin Storm Keough and two half-sisters, twins Finley Aaron Love and Harper Vivienne Ann Lockwood. She started dating Ryan Cabrera in June 2006[2], though they broke up as of February 2009.
Keough was raised by her mother's religion, Scientology. Though she had no contact with them since their divorces from her mother. She was Maid Of Honor at her mother's wedding to Michael Lockwood. Keough's father, Danny Keough, is a musician and bass player in Lisa Marie Presley's band, and is also collaborating musically with Angela McCluskey in the Waterbunnies. Danny claimed that he planned to take custody of Riley and Benjamin in 1995 when child molestation accustations were being charged against Lisa Marie's then husband, Michael Jackson, although the plan never followed through.Keough has stated that she has deep respect for her former stepdad, Michael Jackson, as she appeared at his funeral and memorial service in July 2009. Keough has also stated that she had no contact with him, but she did have very good memories with him.
Keough stated on Oprah and in many other interviews, that she knew that he Elvis Presley, was the "The King of Rock n' Roll" by the array of awards at Graceland. She also stated that she feels for him the way any other grandchild does their grandfather.she started dating Tobias Jesso, a back up vocalist and bassist from a band called The Sessions, in May 2009.
On January 8, 2010, Riley was at Graceland in Memphis for Elvis' 75th birthday celebration cutting the cake with her brother Ben, alongside her mother Lisa, and grandmother Priscilla. Many fans attended the week-long celebration of his life.
Riley stated in an interview that although she is Elvis Presley's granddaughter, she claims she doesn't believe she has a perfect voice. In the same interview, she also said that acting was her first choice: "I sort of gave up on acting because I decided that I was way too introverted and shy to act."
