Mula Sa Puso (lit. From the Heart) was a Filipino teleserye or television series.
Story
Via, Claudine Barretto, is the only daughter of Don Fernando, is raised as his darling princess. On her eighteenth birthday she finds out that her father has promised her (hand in marriage) to her childhood friend Michael, Diether Ocampo, and before the birthday party is over, she gets kidnapped. She is rescued by a good samaritan named Gabriel, Rico Yan, whom she falls in love with. Michael at the latter part of the story became romantically involved with Via's bestfriend, Trina, Rica Peralejo. As the story unfolds, Via ends up having to decide between the two men in her life, while learning more about her mother Magda (Jaclyn Jose) and fighting off her evil aunt Selina, (Princess Punzalan), who is the sister of Don Fernando (Juan Rodrigo) who wants to make all of them miserable before Selina Defeat.

- Claudine Barretto as Olivia "Via" Pereira/Ella Peralta is Don Fernando's daughter and also the lost daughter of Magdalena Trinidad. She's a good daughter and is Michael's childhood friend. She falls in love with Gabriel.
- Rico Yan as Gabriel, the man who saved Via from the bad guys and later falls in love with Via. He is also Leo's brother.
- Rica Peralejo as Trina, Via's friend and she fell in love with Michael.
- Diether Ocampo as Michael Miranda, Via's Childhood friend and he dies after being shot by Bagyo.
- Patrick Garcia as Warren, Gabriel's friend and the son of Corazon and Benjamin and Tom Tom's older brother.

- Jaclyn Jose as Magdalena Trinidad the lost mother of Via and she fell in love with Don Fernando and she has a scar face after being trown by Selina. and later she married Don Fernando.
- Princess Punzalan as Selina Matias was the criminal she trown scar to Magda and she married Ysmael and having one daguhter Nicole she become evil after her daughter dies and she abused Jennifer a lot. Also she destroy the bus also she shot her husband survied the car fire and she dies after the truck hit her. But in The movie version she was killed after the car was on fire.
- Juan Rodrigo as Don Fernando Pereira was Via's father, Criselda's husband and Magda's 2nd husband.
- Rio Locsin as Corazon Warren and Tom's mother and also Madga childhood friend since high school.

Background
It was the Philippines' most watched "Teleserye" in primetime TV from 1997 to 1999. Having an average of 51% rating (national) per week. ABS-CBN's Star Cinema even made a self-titled movie out of it.

- It's pilot episode was 37.9%, the highest rating was 56.5% while the average was 45.2%

- Claudine Barretto has worked with Rico Yan and Diether Ocampo on television including the last love triangle pairing in Saan Ka Man Naroroon.
- After the series, there was Mula Sa Puso the movie and all 3 stars Claudine Barretto, and Rico Yan, and Diether Ocampo worked again in Dahil Mahal na Mahal Kita which became a box office hit in 1999 and both boys worked with Claudine separately. Got 2 Believe was Rico Yan's last pairing, and Diether Ocampo worked with Claudine in Nasaan Ka Man and on television Ikaw Ang Lahat Sa Akin and Sineserye Presents :Maligno and their top rated soap of 2008 Iisa Pa Lamang.
- Rico Yan, Diether Ocampo, Patrick Garcia, Paula Peralejo and Rica Peralejo all worked in Youth-Oriented show Gimik. Claudine also starred in Gimik as a recurring guest cast.

- It was the first soap opera that made its protagonist (Via) die in a bus explosion at the middle of the series and resurfacing alive as Ella one week later. Followers thought that the protagonist really died. Reportedly, there were old people who died of cardiac arrest after watching this episode.
- The first soap that depicted the issue of homosexuality seriously as depicted in the mother-son relationship of Rafael (Ariel Rivera) and Carmen (Nida Blanca).
- One unforgettable scene was when a frantic Magda (Jacklyn Jose) drags the frightened Selina (Princess Punzalan) to the coffin of her daughter Via (Claudine Barretto) in an attempt to make her guilty for killing her.
- Princess Punzalan's antagonist role was greatly hated that people would "boo" the mild-mannered actress in public.
- Kapamilya Channel started re-airing Mula Sa Puso on July 8, 2008.
