Phyllis Fay Gotlieb, née Bloom (May 25, 1926 – July 14, 2009[1]) BA, MA was a Canadian science fiction novelist and poet.

Born of Jewish heritage[2] in Toronto, Gotlieb graduated from the University of Toronto with degrees in literature in 1948 (BA) and 1950 (MA).

The Sunburst Award is named for her first novel, Sunburst.[3] Three years before Sunburst was published, Gotlieb published the pamphlet Who Knows One, a collection of poems.[4] Gotlieb won the Aurora Award for Best Novel in 1982 for her novel A Judgement of Dragons.

Her widower is Calvin Gotlieb, a computer science professor; they lived in Toronto, Ontario.
