WP 1.0 bot announcement

This message is being sent to each WikiProject that participates in the WP 1.0 assessment system. On Saturday, January 23, 2010, the WP 1.0 bot will be upgraded. Your project does not need to take any action, but the appearance of your project's summary table will change. The upgrade will make many new, optional features available to all WikiProjects. Additional information is available at the WP 1.0 project homepage. — Carl (CBM · talk) 03:33, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Mythology page

Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone would like to help and/or comment on the current "situation" going on over at the Mythology of Lost page. Numerous IPs (or perhaps it's the same person just changing their IP) continue to add that "The Sickness" is the situation that was talked about in What Kate Does. I personally do not think this is true and have added a hidden note stating that. If anyone could comment, help, etc. it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. --HELLØ ŦHERE 00:09, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, it seems to have calmed down for now. Anyways, I agree that we should wait for some confirmation that the two are the same and I'm sure we'll get some clarification at some point. --Jackieboy87 (talk · contribs) 13:34, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
My main problem is the whole article is based on primary sources. This edit summary of anonymous IP "episode summary contains what Dogen said, which is the first mention of the sickness on the show by someone whom REALLY knows" shows that there is a big problem of what we call encyclopedia. Do we agree to a serious cleanup? -- Magioladitis (talk) 13:41, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I think that we can all agree that the mythology page needs a lot of work; of course, saying that it does and actually doing it are very different commitments. –thedemonhog talkedits 16:36, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I very much agree it needs a clean up. I'm also very willing to bet that after the series finale, once the mythology is more fleshed out, we'll get numerous sources. But I do thank you for seemingly agreeing with me. If anyone would like to work with the page, I'd be more than willing to help. --HELLØ ŦHERE 21:37, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Right now it's very difficult to do a lot with the article. It's a mixture of plot observations and some podcasts. If we start removing primary sources there won't be much left! One main question: All sections are needed? I don't have a personal opinion at the moment. -- Magioladitis (talk) 12:07, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

We could add something about Adam and Eve, as that's a plot point we have secondary sources/notability of: it's the mystery Obama asked to have solved when he agreed to move the SOTU to the last week of January. Sceptre (talk) 12:40, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Lostpedia links

I know this may fall under WP:OSE, but I had a thought recently. I've just finished a re-watch of the newer Battlestar Galactica and when looking over the episode pages, I noticed that in the "external links" at the bottom, is a link to the BattleStar Wiki. Perhaps this has been brought up before, but should we maybe include a link to the Lostpedia articles of the episodes for LOST? Just a thought. --HELLØ ŦHERE 01:18, 1 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I do not have a link for you, but this has been discussed many times, mostly at the main article's talk page. –thedemonhog talkedits 01:32, 1 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I figured it would've taken place already, but to be honest I didn't look. I figured I'd bring it up here though, as the thought recently crossed my mind. But personally, I'd be up for discussing it. --HELLØ ŦHERE 01:35, 1 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
We can always remove the links in BSG. :) -- Magioladitis (talk) 01:51, 1 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well, that's for the BSG project to decide. I just happened to think of it and thoguht I'd make a mention here. --HELLØ ŦHERE 01:58, 1 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Characters's arc section

I've seen all of the Lost characters articles' plot summaries are written in an in-universe style as all of them start from their earliest flashbacks such Martin Keamy, Tom Friendly or Ben Linus. I know it would be hard to write it in an out-of-universe style due to the flashbacks and flashfoward there are in an episodes, but weren't there any issues mentioned when an article was reviewed to be GA or FA? Regards.Tintor2 (talk) 15:36, 1 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Is this necessary?

Why do you have an article for each episode? Does each inidivdual episode still count as notable on its own? I don't believe it necessary to have a seperate article for each episode, similar to how we did not need an article for each individual Pokemon species. Brambleclawx 03:26, 3 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It appears that you have a lot of content, but are they notable? (see WP:EPISODE). Brambleclawx 03:35, 3 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, there are more than enough secondary sources out there to have a great article on every episode. In fact, one fifth of our episode articles are rated good or featured. Potential definitely exists; whether any of it is realized in the majority of the articles is another matter. –thedemonhog talkedits 04:05, 3 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Finale today's featured article

It was always my goal to get Jack Shephard to featured status for the May 24 (because that is when the finale airs in Wikipedia's timezone) today's featured article spot, but I have not been that active on Wikipedia since 2008 and even if we collectively gave an article a large push, five weeks might not be anough time to get an article to featured status, as the review takes time and is generally not something that should be rushed anyway. So which article should we push for the upcoming today's featured article slot? Our choices are Nikki and Paulo, Greatest Hits (Lost), The Beginning of the End (Lost), Confirmed Dead, The Shape of Things to Come (Lost), Martin Keamy, The Other Woman and Meet Kevin Johnson. I think that the ones that we should be considering are Nikki and Paulo, Keamy and "The Shape of Things to Come". Thoughts? –thedemonhog talkedits 05:24, 19 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Back up and it needs your votes. –thedemonhog talkedits 16:34, 9 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No article for Jacob?

Jacob is one of the most important characters in the series, alongside The Man In Black (Lost), yet Jacob (Lost) redirects to a paragraph in a list. Do you think he merits an article? 86.41.61.203 (talk) 21:30, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
