Rollback (add request)

I cannot use Twinkle because I'm using Internet Explorer 8 I also want to revert vandalism in a faster way and I can find lost of vandalism on Special:RecentChanges. HyperSonic X (talk) 12:38, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not done - you're on the right track, HyperSonic, but I think you still could use a little more experience before taking on rollback. Just keep practicing with undo and the user warning templates. Maybe stop back here in a few weeks and I suspect we'd be happy to grant it. Also note that Mozilla Firefox, for example, works with Twinkle, if you want to give it a try. Keep up the good work though, cheers! Arbitrarily0 (talk) 12:55, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hello. I came across this page and it interested me, because I have spent the vast majority of my time scouring the "Recent changes" page, searching for vandalism. My primary reason for requesting permission for the Rollback feature is that I strongly oppose vandalism of any kind, because of its disruptiveness and lack of purpose; therefore, I have made it my personal goal to revert vandalism, find inappropriate usernames, and provide warnings accordingly. Progressing with this goal, I feel that the Rollback feature is my next step. Thank you for your time and I appreciate your consideration. Sincerely, Can You Prove That You're Human (talk) 23:02, 15 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Done on the condition that you can prove you're human ;). In all seriousness, though, you might find Twinkle useful in combination with Rollback to make warning vandals easier. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 23:09, 15 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, you beat me this time. :D Acalamari 23:11, 15 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm just that good ;) HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 23:21, 15 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. :) --Can You Prove That You're Human (talk) 00:02, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Vandalism is a serious threat to wikipedia and I have gained a lot from this website and I think it is time I repaid some time to it.! --Fermanagh Editor (talk)
Not done. You have little to no recent experience fighting real vandalism here on Wikipedia. If you want the rollback tool, show us that you need it! Go to Special:RecentChanges and make 50 or so vandalism reverts, either with the undo function, or the userscript, Twinkle. One you have done that, come back and request the tool again. -FASTILY (TALK) 22:17, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I love contributing to Wikipedia, but I can contribute better and faster when I have rollback, then I can use huggle, and can continue to make Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia the best encyclopedia on the net! --Light for JC (talk) 19:21, 14 May 2010 (UTC) Light for JC[reply]
Not done. Despite having over a hundred edits, you only have two mainspace edits and barely any edits to Wikipedia space (apart from this request and, rather inexplicably, requesting full protection of your user talk page). Wikipedia is not a playground. Please contribute some more then ask again. --Deskana (talk) 19:53, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Seconded. I had intended to mark this  Not done with a very similar comment but was distracted. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 20:05, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, this is surprisingly unsurprising! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 22:20, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I revert vandalism often and this tool would make is SO much easier. I am very, very tired of coming across an article where there has been multiple edits, all of which are vandalism, and having to undo each of them. I know I only have 300 edits and am a newer user, but this is a secondary account of mine. If I am refused, I will be okay with it. Please consider my request.  Not done What I see is good, but I'd like to see just a little more vandal reverting and, crucially, more warnings on the talk pages of vandals. Twinkle can help you there, I see you've already asked another editor for advice on it. I use it frequently so you;re welcome to ask me as well if you want :) HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 16:53, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately I can not use Twinkle or Huggle because of my browser. I really would love to, but can't. Homework2 pass a notesign! 16:56, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm inclined to grant this one, while obviously more warnings should be used this user's reverts have been pretty much exclusively good ones, and I think there's a decent number even if you don't include the previous account. Given the fact that browser issues preclude Twinkle use, I think rollback seems a reasonable request. Any thoughts, HJ? ~ mazca talk 17:17, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Done Alright then, it's just one button after all :). Just be sure to warn the vandals you revert in future... HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 17:26, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you SOOOO much!!! Homework2 pass a notesign! 17:27, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to use rollback to get rid of vandalism faster because with the pages I edit vandalism happens a lot and I don't want to have to go through things like undoing the vandalism because sometimes the vandalism is unable to be undone after say an edit conflict an editor may edit a page unknowing of the vandalsim. After this it's very tideous sometimes to re-edit the page to where the page was before vandalism happened. Curtis23's Usalions 22:33, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not done. Sorry, but in your last 250 contribs, which go back roughly a month, I see 2, maybe 3 edits that could have been vandalism reversion which is not sufficient for me to be entirely comfortable granting you rollback. Sorry. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 22:47, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'd like to say it's actually a lot more then that it is just not labeled as vandalism but there actually is a lot more vandalism revisions than 2 or 3 in my last 250 edits. Will you take another look?--Curtis23's Usalions 22:53, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Actually I'd look at all my edits. You'd see a lot more more vandalism rversions.--Curtis23's Usalions 22:56, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I took another look and examined a few diffs where you've used the "undo" button, but I don't see anything that would be blatant enough vandalism for you to use rollback. Your contributions appear to be very good, but I don't see a need for rollback- it's worth noting that it's a tool given to editors who frequently revert vandalism rather than an advanced status. You might also like to Twinkle, which is a very useful script both for reverting and issuing warnings. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 23:19, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I do try to revert vandalism any time that I can so that's why I thought that I could use rollback to make these reverts faster. Also I'm trying Twinkle but it doesn't work for me.--Curtis23's Usalions 23:23, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
 Done I just received rollback rights from User:Aqwis.--Curtis23's Usalions 21:35, 6 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If I did do something wrong I'm sorry you can take away my rollback rights but I have started using Twinkle and have been using a plethora of it I think I'd like you to take one more look at my contributions.--Curtis23's Usalions 23:22, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
