Rollback (add request)

I already use Twinkle at home where I can use a Twinkle supported browser, but I often check for vandalism at work, where my IT department restricts us to using Internet Explorer. It would be nice to have the rollback feature available cross-platform. DCmacnut<> 18:36, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Although I edit less than I use to when I have the chance I have gotten back into the habit of doing vandal watching, I currently use Twinkle however I still think having rollback would be useful for certain situations when being able to quickly rollback vandalism is needed Cat-five - talk 16:39, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I was given reviewer rights recently, and I thought it could be handy to have this as well. I occasionally check recent changes, but I also have a large watchlist, and this could be a useful tool. Torchiest talk/contribs 20:42, 24 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Clean up vandalism on Mira Costa High School Kvng (talk) 20:31, 24 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not done. You have little to no recent experience fighting real vandalism here on Wikipedia. If you want the rollback tool, show us that you need it! Go to Special:RecentChanges and make 50 or so vandalism reverts, either with the undo function, or the userscript, Twinkle. One you have done that, come back and request the tool again. -FASTILY (TALK) 03:24, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I certainly don't need rollback as it is not my mission here to fight spam. I do run across it and would like to be able to clean it up as I do. No one else has stepped up to clean up the lewd edits to Mira Costa High School. There are multiple edits there and I'm not going to bother to clean it up manually. I was rejected a few months ago for not issuing warnings when cleaning up spam. I have learned how to do the warnings. What other criteria do I need to meet? --Kvng (talk) 13:54, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I don't attack a lot of vandalism, but my watchlist is quite large after a year of active editing, and it would be useful to have rollback when needed. Just ran into a case of vandal IP edits and it was suggested I could combat the vandal faster with rollback. Milowent (talk) 18:35, 24 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've been reverting vandalism almost daily for several months now, mostly using Twinkle. I'm occasionally on a rather slow connection, so I hope using this tool will make life easier. Fama Clamosa (talk) 18:12, 24 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Reason for requesting rollback Checker Fred (talk) 18:10, 24 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have been useing twinkle for a while and understand it.

 Done The Helpful One 18:17, 24 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have been using Twinkle until now, but as I understand the native rollback feature is faster and easier on the servers (though it has the downside that you cannot add a summary), so I would like to be able to use that instead to revert blatant vandalism. I was recently granted the Reviewer permission, and since the rollback feature would allow me to remove vandalism more efficiently, I am requesting this permission as well. Drpickem (talk) 08:23, 24 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I do a small but significant amount of vandalism reversion, and it would be faster and easier with rollback. I also use primarily IE, and so cannot use Twinkle. TGR 05:43, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Question: Thank you for your contributions, but I'm wondering how much you will be using the rollback right if granted? Currently your vandalism reversion is, as you said quite small, if you get rollback will you be vandal fighting more frequently? Thanks, The Helpful One 11:54, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Probably somewhat, as it would be a less onerous and tedious task. TGR 16:58, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You may consider using a script such as twinkle at Special:RecentChanges to gain some experience reverting vandalism. -FASTILY (TALK) 18:05, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well he says above that he uses Internet Explorer, which is a horrible, horrible browser and doesn't work with Twinkle. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 18:15, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Done I took a look at your contributions and you obviously have a decent understanding of what vandalism is, rollback isn't a big deal, so I can't see any reason not to grant it and it's my impression that neither of the two admins above have objected to granting it. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 18:22, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I use Twinkle already but I may not edit much, I still like to check for vandalism when I can and stop it. I believe Wikipedia is a helpful place with a lot of information but when incorrect information is posted or vandalism takes place, it becomes not so helpful. I know lots of students like Wikipedia but they also need good information. Joe Gazz84 (talk) 18:48, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not done Your contributions are very much appreciated, but you don't seem to have an awful lot of need for this tool given that, at the time of writing, you've only made 32 edits and none of them appear to reverting vandalism. Give it a couple of weeks, keep up the editing and reverting with Twinkle, then give me a bell. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 20:48, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I used to do quite a lot of antivandalism with Twinkle; I still do now, if not so prolifically, and it would help a lot with the reviewing process, too. Smaug123 (talk) 21:00, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have always loved the idea of a collaborative project in which members of the online community far and wide may contribute, I hate vandalism and I've never tolerated it, my request is twofold, I've seen what my fellow class members have done in terms of vandalism, they think it's funny, but it isn't, it is absolutely appalling. It is just as bad as violating a library book, the second reason is that I want to be given a chance to help the community. EDIT: I use Mozilla Firefox on my desktop, my laptop was issued to me by my school (I live in Australia) and as such I can only use IE. Fridae'§Doom 01:22, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not done You appear to be a good editor, but you don't seem to have any real experience at reverting vandalism. I'd like to see a few good reverts, warnings and WP:AIV reports to demonstrate that you know what you're doing and that you understand what vandalism is and how to deal with it. Give it, say, a week, make plenty of reverts with Twinkle when you have access to Firefox or Google Chrome, and use the undo button or revert manually in the meantime, then ping my talk page and I'll reconsider. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 02:25, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sometimes checking the recent changes in order to discover possible vandalism. Thereby, Twinkle is an incredible help. However, in few occasions, it would be advantageous to have the rollback feature at hand. Fabian Hassler (talk) 11:57, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm a relatively experienced user with over 6,000 edits. I often use Twinkle, when dealing with tedious disruptive edits that have to be undone, but I'd try rollback feature too, as it is said to be a bit quicker. Miacek and his crime-fighting dog | woof! 12:50, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to request rollback so I can use wp:Huggle, as I find the normal interface for vandalism fighting rather inefficient. I was given rollback before without asking for it, but at the time I did not see any advantage compared to the Twinkle rollback feature, so I asked for it to be removed after an embarrassing mis-click on a watch listed page. It is under trial (here) to be an anti-vandalism bot. It needs rollback in order to revert vandals. Please and thank you. Tim1357 talk 19:03, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I would love to have the rollback feature because I patrol pages for vandalism and whenever I see any I undo it immediately and issue a warning. I would like this feature because it will help me effectively rollback any vandalism that I see. I am also a part of the Counter-vandalism task force and part of the recent changes patrol, so this will help immensely. Bobby122 (talk) 19:36, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not done I only see 2 or 3 reverts and warnings. I see you use Twinkle, so if you used that to make around 50 reverts, perhaps by patrolling Special:RecentChanges for vandalism and warned all the vandals, reporting them to WP:AIV when necessary, I'd be happy to grant it in a few days. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 19:41, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hello. I was just checking back to see if I have met the qualifications yet to be granted rollback privilege. Thank you for you consideration.--Bobby122 (talk) 00:24, 29 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Done You've obviously gone out and made a lot of good reverts and a few AIV reports which I see have been fulfilled, so I see no reason not to grant rollback. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 00:36, 29 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I do quite a bit of anti-vandalism work and have some vandalism-prone articles on my watchlist. This tool would make things easier in some cases Boson (talk) 22:46, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not done Keep up the good work, but I'd like to see a few more warnings on the talk pages of vandals, maybe a few AIV reports before I grant rollback. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 22:50, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I watch about 100 pages, some of which get frequent IP and new user editing, could handle a few more with this tool Trev M   23:25, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not done You only have 32 edits at the time of writing and only one of them might be vandalism reversion. On an unrelated note, what on Earth is with your signature? HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 13:13, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
