Rollback (add request)

I would like rollback to use huggle for vandalism fighting. Most of my work in this sphere revolves around new page patrol as the on-web tools for anti-vandalism have proved clunky for me to use. I have contributed for three years with much of that work being in the project space with strong work on new page patrol and anti-vandalism Torchwood Who? (talk) 21:59, 22 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have been doing a little of anti vandalism work since i started on wikipedia i started with twinkle a few days ago before that i would manually undo vandalism. I would like to have rollback available to me and i have read the entire page on it. Inka 888 (talk) 19:44, 22 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not done. You have little to no recent experience fighting real vandalism here on Wikipedia. If you want the rollback tool, show us that you need it! Go to Special:RecentChanges and make 50 or so vandalism reverts, either with the undo function, or the userscript, Twinkle. One you have done that, come back and request the tool again. -FASTILY (TALK) 20:14, 22 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I was granted reviewer rights and the admin said I should request rollback rights. I think I would use the tool well. Látches (talk) 09:11, 22 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Comment from non-admin: The user made 94 edits in total, including 28 edits in the article namespace. In those 28 edits, it looks like he's made about 22 reverts. Admins normally ask for 50 reverts before granting rollback rights. In my opinion, the user should revert some more vandalism, and then file another request. —Waterfox (talk) 13:39, 22 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I will revert some more but Fastily did recommend. But I guess it helps. Látches Lets talk! 16:15, 22 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not done I'd like to see more experience and please make sure you warn all the vandals you revert. You might like to look at Twinkle or WP:STiki for a faster means of reverting and warning. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 16:20, 22 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have been vehemently involved in anti-vandalism activities off-late. I particularly deal with India-related articles and stubs, which are often created for promotional purposes. Acquiring rollback rights would be advantageous in dealing with promotional-stubs and my struggle against vandalism! I also strongly believe in what this man once famously quoted. I edit mainly Anglo Saxon and local sites. The local sites particularly are prone to joke and spam edits, so any tools to reduce it would be useful. Wilfridselsey (talk) 19:34, 21 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have 23,811 edits and perhaps 5% of those are vandalism related - fighting against vandalism I would hope. I would say some of the most tricky 'vandalism' I come across is where an IP has tried to be productive but actually made things worse by misunderstanding how Wikipedia works, often trying to undo their mistake they often makes things worse. Anyway I'm rambling here, I use twinkle but I believe this is meant to be quicker so I would like permission to use it. EchetusXe 19:21, 21 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I want to revert vandalism because I want to prevent vandalism from the IP Addresses and vandalism-only accounts to keep Wikipedia safe. Wayne Olajuwon (talk) 15:03, 21 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Regular contributor, been working on more anti-vandalism as of recent and I am enjoying it. I'm sure I've had at least 50 edits against vandalism, I have read over all the policy and procedure for using rollback, but mainly, I am tired of getting beaten to the punch for reverts to vandalism! Theornamentalist (talk) 14:15, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not done for now. You've made a good number of reverts recently, but I'd like to see a bit more experience and you should warn the vandals that you revert. You might like to try STiki or Twinkle either to just help you with warning vandals or for a faster reverting method. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 14:59, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, I'll work at it - Theornamentalist (talk) 15:24, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure if it's too soon, but rollback definitely would have been useful here and here. I have left messages too, sometimes not only templated ones, even received an email from a vandal! - Theornamentalist (talk) 12:21, 19 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sometimes I spend a hour or two fighting vandalism on Wikipedia and I found that I'm quite inefficient using current tools. I'd like to use Huggle. Currently I have done several hundreds of anti-vandalism edits. 1exec1 (talk) 17:10, 23 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

One of my wiki projects articles just came under attack from IP's and the Rollback would have been very useful to have fixed it. I request permission to use rollback. --Nascar king 02:00, 24 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not done. You have little to no recent experience fighting real vandalism here on Wikipedia. The rollback tool is usually only granted to seasoned vandal fighters. Hi. I've been editing/writing original content for the past 16 months with 1300+ edits. I have 4 decent original articles that I wrote (please see my main page for titles), as well as about 1/2 dozen other articles that I completely rewrote. I am constantly clicking undo to change vandalism by some IP. I was never punished for provoking an edit war, abusing another editor, reverting someone more than once without consensus or causing problems despite daily edits regarding controversial topics. I look for consensus, compromise and stay away from articles where I know my POV may cloud my judgment. I have an IP block exemption for over 1 year, and it was never abused. I currently review articles for GA with no complaints. In conclusion, I am trustworthy person who edits often, have many pages on my watchlist, and would like to have a faster method of removing blatant vandalism. Meishern (talk) 22:13, 24 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to have this function added to my account so I can make changes where I find vandalism in articles or make mistakes in pages myself. Hugahoody (talk) 22:29, 24 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

i Have been using twinkle to fight vandalism. Before that i would undo vandalism i would like rollback to fight vandalism. i think i am ready for it. I always leave warnings for the vandals. Inka 888 23:20, 24 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not done It's been two days since your last request. I see you've made a grand total of one revert since then: [1]. And TBH, I can't even say for sure if that is in fact vandalism. Like I said before, if you want the tool, you're going to need to show us that you need it. Go here, use Twinkle, and start reverting vandalism. -FASTILY (TALK) 20:45, 25 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've been using Twinkle to patrol recent changes and the rollback feature in conjunction with Huggle would make this more efficient, thanks for your consideration

I requested a week or so ago and was denied, but since then I have been doing even more vandalism fighting and leaving vandalism template messages on their talk pages. Mr.Kennedy1 talk 20:18, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Done. Everything you've been doing looks good, but make sure you've read WP:ROLLBACK to understand how to use your new button. Ioeth (talk contribs twinkle friendly) 20:39, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hello! I am Mr. Anon. I have not edited this site in a while, but I have reverted quite a lot of vandalism. I want rollback because I believe it will help me battle vandalism better. Mr. Anon515 04:57, 27 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not done You only have 70 mainspace article edits and very little recent activity. Please spend some time editing and get more experience in vandal fighting before requesting again. To borrow some advice from another admin maybe go to Special:RecentChanges and make 50 or so vandalism reverts, either with the undo function, or the userscript, Twinkle. Polargeo (talk) 09:11, 27 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have been editing Wikipedia since January 2010 and have never caused any trouble. I fight vandalism for hours and the rollback tool would be a great help. I am aware I haven't reverted many edits, but I know the policies and what is and is not vandalism. I am already a reviewer and I simply want to use this tool to fight vandalism in a much faster way. Nations United (talk) 15:39, 27 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to request to use rollback because I have discovered Huggle to combat vandals, unfortunately Huggle does not function without being permitted to rollback. Mart (talk) 16:00, 27 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
