KBFX-CA Channel 58 is a Class A low-power television station serving Bakersfield, California. It is a Fox affiliate which used to broadcast on analog channel 58. The analog signal went off the air in August 2010. KBFX currently broadcasts only as a subchannel of KBAK-DT (16:9 widescreen standard definition); the digital signal is RF channel 33-2 and virtual mapped channel 58-2. It is also available in high definition on Bright House Networks cable.

KBFX began as a former low-relay translator of KMPH-TV channel 26 broadcasting out of Visalia/Fresno back in the early 1990s. Later, fox television stations wanted to include a new separate affiliate station for the Bakersfield market. [citation needed]

KBFX is owned and operated by the local CBS affiliate, KBAK-TV. KBAK's then-owner, Westwind Communications, bought KBFX in 2005 from previous owner Pappas Telecasting, which owns Fresno Fox affiliate KMPH-TV.

On August 6, 2007, Westwind Communications announced the sale of KBAK and KBFX-CA to Fisher Communications of Seattle [1], with the sale closing on January 1, 2008.

According to the FCC's database, KBFX-CA has a construction permit for a digital signal on RF channel 29, but that signal is not yet on the air. KBFX's current digital service is on a subchannel of co-owned KBAK-DT

On February 28, 2010, Bright House Networks announced that KBFX will be carried in Tehachapi also on cable 6.
