Travelex Group
Hi there. You are correct that the article about the Travelex Group didn't contain a massive amount of information. However, I thought the point of Wikipedia was that it was a collaborative site and others could add further information. Also that the article could be updated over time. I could go on, but I can't be bothered to. Well done, you've deleted the page, now there remain a load of dead links to a non-existent page and I can't update the page to add more info, nor can anyone else, and no one can get any information about this company on Wikipedia. That was the reason I started the page - I wanted to know about the company and was surprised to find no information on Wikipedia. I can't be bothered to rewrite it [i]and[/i] battle against Wikipedians who have the time and inclination to spend all day deleting sites. Frankly I can't be bothered and I have better things to do. No wonder so many people find contributing to Wikipedia too daunting to bother with.

Souths Sunnybank
Hi, Author here of Souths_Sunnybank_RLFC. It has been deleted as Copyright infringing, however nothing has been 'copied' from the source other than facts. I have compressed a couple of hundred words from the history section of the source into a couple of sentences of fact statement. This first draft of the SSRLFC page was modelled of other similar club pages, I'd imaging they'd have the same issues. - Hmm... 99% of the articles I have just browsed through make no explicit statement of importance, especially articles about similar clubs/teams/players. The content speaks for itself. How (in the context of the article) is someone supposed to 'indicate why its subject is important or significant'. Unlike Wikipedia:Notability there is no 'help' page defining importance. Notability is a more rigid standard than importance. If your page states importance but not notability (a big "if"), it'd likely not be speedy deleted. Still it wouldn't survive a deletion discussion which is basically an army of people yelling "delete, non-notable" instead of just me.

- Yes copyright infringement is definitely the case. Large parts of the article were taken straight from the copyrighted Transaid website such as [1] and [2]. Need suggestions/guidance on "Knowlarity Communications"

I am trying to write an article on Knowlarity Communications and have tried improvising this article based on the feedback and guidelines as recommended by Wiki and you. However, it has gone into deletion again. This organization, Knowlarity Communications, is helping the Indian government track a meal scheme served at schools for the Indian children (below poverty line) which is quite a big step in social responsibility from a corporate. Could you please recommend me with some issue on this article, so that i can improvise and rewrite my article accordingly. It would really be of great help if you could put in your suggestions for improvement .I have tried writing this article from a neutral point of view. However, if any specific information i need to delete/improvise on, please suggest me on those lines. - You're well meaning, but unless the company has been the subject of detailed coverage in two or more newspaper / other media articles, we cannot have an article on it. Speedy deletion of article "Giorgi Latsabidze"
I started this article a year ago, and have noticed numerous additions since that time by other contributors. I am surprised and dismayed that the article was subject to "speedy deletion" without any discussion after all that time. Has something objectionable been added that needed to be removed? Can the problem be corrected by reverting to an earlier version? Or has the article been defective all this time and the defects were just now noticed! I am not an expert on Wikipedia procedures but I feel that this action requires a protest or at least some further explanation as to what the specific problems are. I note on my talk page an indication from another user that nominated the article for speedy deletion that it can be protested by leaving a tag on the article or its talk page. Yes, I found this "deletion review" page since I left the last note. The page suggests that I first ask you why you felt the page should be deleted. So I am asking you now, and I would appreciate a response in terms of the comments above regarding the long history of this article, which would seem to call for some discussion of possible remedies rather than a speedy deletion. A lot of work has gone into this page by many contributors besides me over a long period of time. The page has numerous references to the information provided. If the information is complementary to the subject, consider that it might be a simple reflection of the subject's merit. If the article is too long or contains excessive material deemed to be "promotional", perhaps this can be simply remedied through appropriate deletions, rather than a complete deletion of the article. Perhaps an earlier version of the article would be considered more "encyclopedic" and we could revert to that. Thank you for your attention to this. Music43lover (talk) 00:04, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
- Latsabidze seems to be a talented pianist for his age, but as he is still a student, this biography was well before its time, and well out of proportion to his standing in the world – a clear case of WP:CRYSTAL. The existence of the large number of professional and personal images uploaded, and the rather overstated biography would all point to a concerted professional attempt to publicise an up-and-coming artist – many much more accomplished artists do not have such extensive Wikipedia entries, if at all – I cite Vladimir Ashkenazy, André Previn, Pinchas Zukerman Li Yundi. Music43lover implied that many other editors have contributed to it over its lifetime, but a closer examination would reveal that most of those changes were of form and not of substance. It was only after spending an hour or two on the article, reviewing the details that I realised it was beyond salvation. The so-called references were at best footnotes, most of the 'real' references were linked to the subject's own self-aggrandising website, so it would be not an enormous problem recreating it from scratch ;-) I would not oppose userfication. Whatever the outcome, I would suggest that Music43lover left it for a few years, so that the subject can acquire some stature in the world, before recreating this biography in mainspace. --Ohconfucius ¡digame! 01:52, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
Some of your criticism of the present article may well be justified. It is difficult for me to judge, since I haven't gone back to the article recently, but recall that it was in a rapid process of growth the last time that I looked and may have become disproportionately long. But let me address some of the specifics that you cite above. Latsabidze is not that young for a performer, already into his thirties after an obvious start as a notable child prodigy. He is indeed highly talented and, while he is still a student, he is now a few credits from his DMA at USC after excelling in several other series of studies as cited. If a performing artist doesn't stop their studies, considering the inevitable sacrifice in delaying their focus on performance opportunities, that is hardly a criticism and can be viewed instead as a dedication to the perfection of their art. Second, the cited references on his website are intended to direct the reader to required substantiation for claims in the article, as required in the encyclopedic format. In many cases, the substantiation is in the form of images of relevant documents such as certificates of awards, or translations of highly favorable reviews of notable performances that were excerpted in the article. Such images are unlikely to be found online and my approach in these cases was to request that Latsabidze place the document images and translations on his website so that they could be referenced. The translations were my own, based on the original foreign language sources. The original review texts were also made available, since these translations are not otherwise authenticated. I have the original (paper) published sources of these review articles in my files, which I personally scanned to produce the cited texts. As far as missing biographies of notable musicians on Wikipedia such as you cited is concerned, I can offer only the explanation that producing a good article is a lot of work, and requires some enthusiasm for the subject. In Latsabidze's case, my enthusiasm is the result of hearing him perform personally several times and having some knowledge of his background. Others that have contributed to the article undoubtedly had a similar motivation. I personally have no monetary interest in Latsabidze's future success or other conflict of interest.
All this aside, I suggest the following resolution. The article may well be disproportionate at this time. I suggest that it be restored temporarily with a suitable deletion warning so that it can be modified to the satisfaction of the Wikipedia editors. I can move the restored article to my workspace for this purpose and you and others can review the progress of these changes. Please let me know if this suggestion is an acceptable compromise. I believe that my discussion above is an adequate motivation for you to reconsider the abrupt deletion of a long-standing article that demonstrably meets all of the published Wikipedia criteria for notability, is very well referenced in most if not all respects, etc. If the article has grown out of proportion, that can be fixed. I again suggest that you restore the article so it can be revised as necessary, and we can avoid a formal protest of the deletion. I noticed an editor attempting to re-add a speedy deletion template after you had just declined it, so I reverted. However, looking more closely, I see that you declined it because " offline references are provided." However, the name of those offline references seems to indicate that they are self published--both are from the "Festival of Praise" magazine. Since it appears that he only references that the article has are self-published, and that thus the festival has not even legitimately asserted notability, could it not possibly be correct to speedily delete?
