The discography of Barbadian singer Rihanna consists of four top-ten studio albums, two remix albums and twenty-seven singles including five as a featured artist and three charity releases. Rihanna made her chart debut in 2005 with "Pon de Replay" which was released on August 22. The single peaked at number two on the US Billboard Hot 100, UK Singles Chart and Irish Singles Chart. It was subsequently certified platinum in the United States and gold in Australia.[1][2] Her debut album Music of the Sun had distinct Caribbean reggae rhythms and dancehall beats fused with synthesised urban dance-pop.[3][4] The album became a top-ten Billboard 200 hit as well as peaking in the top-forty of most other album charts. The other single from the album was "If It's Lovin' that You Want".

The following year, Rihanna released her second studio album A Girl Like Me which had a more popular music sound as opposed to the tropical sound of Music of the Sun.[5][6] It performed better on the album charts in many territories. As well as topping the Canadian Albums Chart, it reached the top five in the United States and top-twenty elsewhere. It spawned the number one singles "SOS" (number one in three countries) and "Unfaithful" (number one in two countries) as well as top-twenty single "Break It Off" (featuring Sean Paul) and top-thirty single "We Ride". The album was subsequently certified platinum in five countries.

In 2007 Rihanna released her most successful album to date, Good Girl Gone Bad, which again shifted genres to a more urban and European dance-pop sound.[7] It was significantly more successful than her previous albums, peaking at number two on the US Billboard 200 and top-ten on other album charts. It was certified multi-platinum in several countries following a number of re-releases and seven singles including the worldwide number-one hit "Umbrella" which became the longest sitting number-one single on the UK Singles Chart of the 21st century (at that time).[8] Other singles included the top-twenty song "Shut Up and Drive" and the top-ten hits "Don't Stop the Music" and "Hate That I Love You" with Ne-Yo. Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded produced three more singles including two number-one singles, "Take a Bow" and "Disturbia", and the top-twenty single "Rehab".

Rihanna released her fourth studio album in November 2009, Rated R. The album reached number one in Switzerland, number four in the US and number five Canada, as well as in the top-twenty elsewhere. Rated R produced the worldwide top-ten hit "Russian Roulette", the US top ten hit "Hard", and the number-one hit "Rude Boy", which became her sixth US Hot 100 single and fourteenth top-ten hit of her career.[9] The song also gave Rihanna her fourth number one in Australia. Two other singles were released, "Te Amo" which appeared on twenty charts, reaching inside the top-twenty on thirteen, and the US radio single "Rockstar 101" featuring Slash which became a hit peaking at number two on the Hot Dance Club Songs chart, number 64 on the Hot 100 and 24 in Australia. US rapper Eminem released his collaboration with Rihanna titled "Love the Way You Lie" in August 2010. It peaked at number one in many countries worldwide including Australia, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden and the US as well as number two in the UK. It also reached the top spot on the UK R&B Chart and the US Digital Songs, Pop Songs, Radio Songs and Rap Songs charts. It became Rihanna's seventh number-one single in the US. As of July 23, 2010, Rihanna had sold approximately 5.56 million album units in the US.[10]

Rihanna will release her fifth studio album, "Loud" on November 12, 2010.[11] The first single, "Only Girl (In the World)" was released as a digital download on September 10, 2010 and has currently peaked at number three in the US, as well as number one in Canada and in five other countries.
