The Sims 3: Late Night is the third expansion pack for the strategic life simulation computer game The Sims 3.[1] It is very reminiscent of an older expansion pack from The Sims 2 titled The Sims 2: Nightlife which in itself was reminiscent of an expansion pack of The Sims titled The Sims Hot Date. It also takes in some elements from its console spin-off game The Urbz: Sims in the City.
This expansion pack also introduces a brand new city neighbourhood called 'Bridgeport', based on the city of San Francisco and the home of Tinseltown, Los Angeles which is divided into two different districts similar to the ones found in The Urbz: Sims in the City.[2]
Gameplay
Major additions in The Sims 3: Late Night includes night clubs, bars, careers and new skills and traits, and also an improved muscle and breast slider. The expansion pack will also feature elevators, and apartments, which was a feature introduced in The Sims 2: Apartment Life, but these are only large buildings that fade away revealing the actual living area called "shells". A new supernatural creature; Vampires are reintroduced to the game, first appearing in The Sims 2: Nightlife, they have many added features like being smarter, faster and more creative than normal Sims and will perish when out in the day light.[3]
Development
The expansion pack was announced on July 20, 2010 [4] with a trailer featuring "Bridgeport," a new downtown and urban area, along with new objects and musical instruments, such as a piano, keyboard, a drum set, and an upright bass.
The game was released on 26th October 2010[5] in USA and will later be released to Europe and the ROW on 29th October 2010[6].
