Rollback (add request)

I'm an active contributor to several regularly-vandalized or articles. I'd like the be able to take care of these issues more efficiently. Porlob (talk) 22:48, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Reason for requesting rollback Editor for Wikipedia 21:47, 12 November 2010 (UTC)

May I request to have the rollback permission so I can moderate Wikipedia better? I love moderating wiki and it would be the best way to spot vandalism, I know I have not done too many edits but I am good at spotting out things. I am trying to use huggle. Thank You

Editor for Wikipedia 21:47, 12 November 2010 (UTC)

:Hello, Jpross123. I am not an Admin. so I can not give you Rollback. I noticed you only have 20 or so edits and little to no Vandalism Reverts. You will need more experience with vandalism before an Admin. will fill your request. You have a very good start. I have Rollback and I still prefer Twinkle you do not need Rollback to use Twinkle. Try this for awhile then re-apply in the future. If you have any further questions please feel free to visit my talk page. Mlpearc powwow 22:42, 12 November 2010 (UTC) AGF is not always the best thing. Thanx Mazca Mlpearc powwow 22:52, 12 November 2010 (UTC) [reply]

Not done, you have little or no experience in reverting vandalism and in fact have in several cases created some vandalism of your own. ~ mazca talk 22:44, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Although I do not have a great deal of experience removing vandalism I am already a reviewer and have signed up to the RC Patrol. Removing vandalism is something I am keen to be more involved with and I believe the Rollback feature will make that task easier. I have read the Help:Reverting and Wikipedia:Rollback feature pages and believe I have sufficient knowledge of Wikipedia policies and the track record, to perform this task well. I read a lot more than I edit and see vandalism from time to time. I'd like to be able to revert it quickly. I manage a company mediawiki instance so fully understand how rollback works. Unixtastic (talk) 21:33, 13 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not done, sorry. Knowing the workings of the tools is an advantage, but you don't have much experience in reverting vandalism, so I can't judge your knowledge of our policies on its correct use. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 21:43, 13 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have been editing Wikipedia for a few weeks now and feel that I could use the rollback feature in my efforts to fight vandalism. I Thank You in advance for your consideration! CRJ200flyer (talk) 21:48, 13 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Already have reviewer rights and I can't see where it would hurt to add rollback rights. Already use twinkle to rollback, so this would just be a nice added bit. Strange Passerby (talkcontribs) 03:22, 14 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Vandalism is a bad thing and I want to fix it so if I can get the rollback feature I can help Wikipedia stop vandalism. I am somewhat an experienced editor and i know most everything about vandalism but this is a chance in the help to stop vandalism.Smiley4541 (talk) 14:07, 14 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not done I looked through the first 300 if your 500 edits and I cant see a single revert of vandalism. Try gaining some experience on special:RecentChanges using Twinkle or other tools that don;t require rollback. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 14:15, 14 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Watching for and reverting vandalism has always been my predominant task as an editor on Wikipedia. Acquiring the rollback feature will help me appropriately and easily revert any unconstructive vandalism I find on articles I come by. Prior to this, I have been doing larger reverts in order to get rid of multiple unconstructive edits but that has led me to unintentionally revert a few good faith edits as well. As I am now highly cautious and prevent myself from doing this again, this has made it difficult for me to revert large vandalism and I am forced to make the necessary changes by manually editing the article. The rollback feature will allow me to remove vandalising edits, and only vandalising edits, immediately and efficiently. EelamStyleZ (talk) 16:04, 14 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: Note for Administrator: Editor has made 10,640 edits. 0 of them are twinkle edits, however I see quite a few edits reverted with the undo button. From what I see the editor hasn't always warned the vandals. Account was created at 06:21, January 17, 2008. Alpha Quadrant talk 19:03, 14 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Done Competent, experienced editor with no blocks or obvious history of trouble and no reason to think he'd abuse it. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 20:39, 14 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I am experienced with reverting vandalism and have reverted vandalism lots of times. Rollback status would be helpful. Jaguar (talk) 20:34, 14 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not done Looking through your contributions, I see excellent content contributions, but very little reversion of vandalism. I don;t think you have enough experience to grant rollback at this moment in time. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 20:44, 14 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have been using Twinkle and WP:STiki to fight vandalism, however I've noticed both tools have downsides with reverting pages, I'd like rollback permissions so that I can try Huggle and attempt rollback vandalized pages more effectively. Aeonx (talk) 02:25, 15 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Revert edits by malfunction bots or vandalism reported during normal bots function or while inspecting and investigating bot edits. I am sysop on pdc- and de-wiki and familar with this option. Xqt (talk) 07:42, 15 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I am an active user and actively battle vandalism, mostly with STiki but also manually. This tool would help me enormously instead of having to click "undo" -> "preview" -> "save" every time. Thank you. AndySpeak to Me (Breathe)Contribs 02:47, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think that I should get rollback privileges because, although my edit count is not necessarily the highest, I have an excellent grasp of English, and have nearly no spelling mistakes. I have also identified spam and vandalism, and have fixed grammatical errors and tense in several articles. I have a reasonably good grasp of the fundamentals of Wikipedia:Copyrights and how to identify them. I also understand the tools needed to properly revise and use rollback on Wikipedia Goswamir14- www.rohangoswami.webs.com 22:28, 16 November 2010 (UTC)
Not done -- We appreciate your contributions, but when I checked your November work I did not see any reverts of vandalism. Wait till you have a bit more experience and consider re-applying for rollback later. EdJohnston (talk) 22:56, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
