I see you've been working on some MAX events, well any help is much appreciated coz theres not many people contributing here on K-1. Just a quick tip thou, maybe you wanna use a results examples from other K-1 events to keep the overall look consistent, i don't like to redo someones work. look at K-1 World MAX 2008 Final . Here's another example i just created and eventually would like to change all the events to. thx. martyMarty Rockatansky (talk) 21:30, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

K-1 World Grand Prix 2008 Finals
Yeah keep up the good work Mr. Smith.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 23:13, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hamid Bouajoub

Yeah i know, it's kinda like Badr Hari's case. Even his own webite he has both flags up[1]. In superlague he represented NZ, in Kings of Oceania and muaythai fights Morocco. I'd go with Morocco as his country of birth. good resource page for uk, nz and oceania is [2], for australian muaythai [3]. to find info on older events use search for old threads on both sites. Marty Rockatansky (talk) 05:52, 10 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Scandinavia tourney was actually 95kg max, Corbett won and declined to fight in open weight in Vegas. If you want you can remove it, its ok. It was advertised but didn't end up as a qualifier after all. Good job btw, you almost covered all the MAX events. I've been working on fight records, finished Ernesto Hoost complete career rec.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 22:51, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I know it takes time to change the format, i just came up with it before last year's finals. I see you keep using your own page as a workplace, you can create your own User:Jsmith006/Sandbox like User:Marty Rockatansky/Sandbox, a good thing about it, you can work on more than one thing at a time.cheers.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 18:49, 19 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What do you think, should we change the title to "K-1 MAX Netherlands 2006 The Road to Tokyo", like they have it on a poster? or i can just redirect it. One more question, in 2005, was there any other smaller tournaments besides MAX Japan, i have a feeling we've missed something.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 20:15, 22 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

just remove "-Byes" from the template brackets and it seems to get rid of this extra space. I moved couple above the results, kinda like the look better K-1 World MAX 2006 Japan Tournament. It looks much more complete with posters, too bad its almost impossible to find them for older events. take care.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 01:16, 24 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

K-1 World MAX 2009 Europe Tournament

same thing, it was just a promo. i'll remove it. are you ok with brackets above the results? , before i go thru all the event pages. thx. Marty Rockatansky (talk) 22:47, 25 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

K-1 New Zealand

I really appreciate your contributions on K-1 events. I've been busy and havent had much time updating fighter records. One thing i noticed thou, you split up few events on different articles. I think it makes thing more complicated, specially some recent events as well in Collizion circuit this year featuring both MAX and heavyweight tournaments. I think there should be one page per event. Let me know what you think?thxMarty Rockatansky (talk) 21:33, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

i can help you to go through the chronology. no problem. i strongly believe there should be only one page per event. as well as add List of K-1 champions to each page. besides in the bottom of the page we have a template for each year and people shoudnt have a problem to find the next MAX event. im thinking about how to add all the years to it as a sub sections. then we can create a new category only for MAX events. laterMarty Rockatansky (talk) 23:58, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Big fights coming up on Monday, whose your favorite? i'd like to see Buakaw winning it one more time and then meeting Masato at New Years. but you can't really count Souwer out as well so yeah its pretty exciting. I think theres gonna be some extra rounds and very close decisions but hopefully nothing controversial. Anyway, have you ever come across the information on K-1 Slovakia 2005? was there such a event. And theres a few events on 2006 list I'm not sure about should they be included - K-1 Rules "Le Grand Tournoi" 2006 and Fight Night Mannheim 2006. cheersMarty Rockatansky (talk) 22:52, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
yeah i know some of the results is pretty hard to find. [4] as much as i can make out of is the matchups. theres seems to be another missing event K-1 FIGHT Makarska 2003. [5] - Fights at the border III results. those two listed on k-1.de were the only fights under K-1 rules. i dont think it belongs under K-1 events. You might wanna check out this site as well about very old K-1 events from 1993-2002 [6].Marty Rockatansky (talk) 08:03, 24 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Bajrami

In K-1 he fought under Swiss flag, was part of Andy Hug team and all that but now on the other events he seems to prefer ALB. I don't know, same thing with Azem Maksutaj. I say with K-1 related events lets keep Swiss. Ye i know feel bad for Buakaw but props to Giorgio hes a great champion thou.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 10:10, 21 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

K-1 Spain MAX 2009

I was looking for missing William Diender fights and came across K-1 Spain MAX that supposedly took place this year in Barcelona, have you heard anything about it? or it was called something like "K-1 MAX Spain Battles". I think there was K-1 Canarias MAX as well. thought you might be interested.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 01:51, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I remember reading Zabit's interview, he was asked the same question, he's 100% Azeri but for the respect of Chinuk Gym he always represents Belarus on his fights. Without his trainer Andrei Gridin he would be in jail somewhere, so yeah everything he's achieved he owns to Chinuk. This Bosnian show seems to be a mystery one. i have bits n pieces but not enough to create the page. I dont now where you from brother, over here its thanksgiving, big holidays, i'll be back next week to work on stuff. You take it easy and be safe, what you've done on all those event pages is huge. later.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 10:52, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

yeah i do have full results of the event somewhere i'll find it for you.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 11:50, 16 January 2010 (UTC) here's the link [7]. Poljo was the bosnian guy aka Combat Zito.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 12:00, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

thats what i thought it was misspelled Turcan. i was not aware of this turkish fighter. none of the other names are misspelled so you might be right.Marty Rockatansky (talk)

slight typo

Hi Jsmith006. I noticed that you are creating a series of pages from some sort of template. It appears many of them contain the same typo - namely "offical" website, rather than "official". I corrected quite a number of them, but you might want to correct your template. Best regards! --Muhandes (talk) 18:26, 11 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Matt Skelton

No offence to your tables but on the Matt Skelton page the table applied was only just finished while yours may have a few cool options such as hide it is not appropriate and is not so easy to read also with the legend it doesn't need one, Maybe if you could use the template already given and add the hide to it would be fine but the table is not needed as their was one already. User talk:Ukaz87

I've been alright. Havent had much time lately on here, glad to see you still working on things. There was a dutch fighter named Koos Wessels as well. other than that i have no idea. japanese and thai translations are something else.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 19:16, 31 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I went through my old notes and found some dates. I got both Thriller in Paris events taking place in '87. Same shows where Ramon Dekkers fought Joel Cesar. And the loss against Peter Smit, i have '96. Both KO losses to Smit and Leuyer were pretty much the reason he hung up. might wanna double check those.laterMarty Rockatansky (talk) 06:17, 5 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

perso.wanadoo.es has a sic list of all classic kickboxing fights. i didnt know Kaman fought Kakuda.heh. link of the full card of the Paris event [8]. unfortunatley theres no dates on it but i think the pic you pointed out pretty much proves it, coz all the dutch are on it who fought on the card that night. i wrote down Dekkers fight record watching his documentary but theres so many mistakes thou it listed he had only 15 losses by the time i add all up it was well over 30. Looks like Smits fight did take place in '90. sorry i brought it up...

Changpuek II was Light Heavyweight world title [9]. it doesnt say I.M.T.F. but it was the the only light-heavy muay thai title he held. its crazy thou how hard it is to find out some kickboxing records 20 years ago. can imagine what boxing dudes have to go through for some lost early Jack Dempsey fights 90 years ago. anyway cheers man.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 09:36, 5 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

i see if i can find it. The name of the event was called Spektakel in Bangkok. His name is Sadau. Same guy who fought Musashi and Andy Hug. Theres a lot of misspelled names on those sites.Marty Rockatansky (talk)
it actually could be this guy Suedao Por Pisitched, instead of Sadau Kiatsongrit.Marty Rockatansky (talk)
i found the man on facebook, lets see what he saysMarty Rockatansky (talk) 20:31, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
ok got a response from the man, apparently he never kept track of his record, specially earlier in his career. He doesnt remember any dates etc. He gave me his buddys email who emailed this. suppose to be pretty much his complete rec from 1990 up. He said Sadou or Suedao was the same guy from Kiatsongrit gym, who fought as well under Por Pisitched name. he said he fought him once, so i dont know about this 1995 fight. let me know what you think. i was hoping to complete his full rec but i guess its lost in historyMarty Rockatansky (talk) 21:36, 10 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Final 16 pages

Hey bro how you been? I wanted to ask your opinion of the Final 16 pages. Now after the official announcement by K-1 as a two day event, i think it should be all in on page. What you think.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 20:25, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You know i think its ok to have them on separate pages, thats how its listed on K-1 official page right now. Hurkou is just the different spelling in belarussian of GurkovMarty Rockatansky (talk) 03:31, 10 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ramon Dekkers / Ubbergen

Hi Marty - was doing some checking and I see that you've got 1988 as the date for this fight while I've got 1991, see [10]. Let me know if this is the case because I've got Michael McDonald down for fighting Milton Felter as this event and will need to change if incorrect. Cheers. jsmith006 (talk) 8:03, 23 September 2010

On a similar Dekkers note - I have changed his record to 30 losses. Does this mean that he has 10 less wins so his win record is now 176 instead of 186 (that took me a while to work out, Maths isn't one of my strengths). I haven't changed his wins but this would seem logical - let me know what you think? jsmith006 (talk) 9:44, 23 September 2010

I'm positive it was '88. I think this nikko-sports video was a collection of different fights not an event. As far as Dekkers accurate record goes i dont think he even knows just like Kaman. What i've written down from different videos none of it matches up. The most realistic ones i've seen are, before the fight with Dany Bill (139 Wins 21 Losses 1 Draw) - with some missing losses and form a fight before 1993 King's birthday 87 Wins, 15 Losses. I know 3 more losses not on his record, to Saimai, Dale Apollo Cook and Therapong all by decision. Before his fight with Theerapong he had 60KO's this was in 93-94. so yeah in his record listed right now, theres too many missing wins and KO's. personally i think he had about 150 wins, 70 KO's and 40 losses, no more than that.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 06:05, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

LAYOUT fixes on K-1 articles

Hi, Jsmith006. Thanks for your work on the creation of articles on K-1 kickboxing. I've helped fixed the layout on a bunch of those articles. As a general rules, the sections should go "See also", "References", "External links", followed by templates. See MOS:APPENDIX for details. There are some other things that ought to be fixed at some point. Almost all the articles have a references in the "Results" heading. This usually should not be used. I have not changed them because I don't know where the reference should be moved. I don't know if I will have the energy to do it anyway. Also, the category sorting for the K-1 articles needs some help. Most of the articles sort into categories based on the article name, which frequently begins with "K-1" so they sort under "K" in the categories. Articles like K-1 Grand Prix '96 Opening Battle would be better sorted under "Grand Prix '96 Opening Battle". This could be done using the DEFAULTSORT tag or sort parameters for individual categories. Cheers. Jason Quinn (talk) 19:41, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

yeah I've been alright. Haven't been much active here unfortunately. Glad to see you still at it. Did you asked the guy what was the reason he tagged it? Your references are fine, i don't see the reason.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 03:41, 10 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
These guys don't know what they're talking about. For any sports results the official site is the primary source. from F1, motogp, NHL to K-1 and Superleague. It would be much easier to argue with those guys if we'd have a Wikiproject for K-1/kickboxing. I removed the notability tag by saying its notable under Martial Arts wikiproject.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 09:55, 10 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I was thinking about it before but its a lot of work for a few people to keep it updated. and i don't know how to work with bots and admin related issues. You can check the mma as an example Wikipedia:WikiProject Mixed martial arts.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 21:59, 10 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You know what i dont think they fought coz Kaoklai was three days later in Japan. The fight was announced, Kaoklai was under his birth name of Athit Damkam according to [11] scroll down to "FANTA & AUDY PROMOTION 17-10-02". I think it was a guy named Lotchai who ended up fighting him instead. [12] I doubt Choppa would forget to mention it was Kaoklai on his full fight record.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 03:14, 15 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Added a few dates and details from my old notes. I think he only boxes now. Loved the wars he had with JWP.Marty Rockatansky (talk) 01:04, 16 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ivan Hippolyte

This message is regarding Ivan Hippolyte being placed as a K-1 World Max Champion and should be reeditied as a K-3 Grand Prix Champion.

It is to my understanding that the K-3 and K-1 World Max Championships were of seperate catagories and as such should be seperated. Within the K-1 official website they state their K-1 World Max Champions in order of induction. In no official way do they include or recognize Ivan Hippolyte among that list indicating that Ivan should be placed within a separate category.199.126.41.223 (talk) 06:12, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Ivan Hippolyte

K-1 Fighters and Tournament Database "2002 K-1 introduces its World Max Series, which has a 70kg weight class, and the Dutch fighter Albert Kraus is crowned the first World Max Champion".

K-3 Grand Prix '95 Wikipedia Page "K-3 Grand Prix '95, also known as K-1 Legend 1995, was a kickboxing event promoted by the K-1 organization. It was the first, and so far only, K-3 final, featuring an elimination tournament ".

The facts presented suggests that in my opinion it should be categorized from instead of K-1 World MAX Champions to K-1 World MAX Preliminary / Other Tournament Champions. For example no tournament UFC Champions are listed in the same category of the actually UFC Champions category. This is the same situation, for to be listed as a World Max Champion you must have won that tournament and since Ivan has not done so he should be listed with the K-1 World MAX Preliminary / Other Tournament Champions. The World Max Championship may have replaced the K-3 Grand Prix but it’s not the same championship. Another example could be looked at, the UFC Super fight Championship which was replace by the Heavyweight Championship but not listed in the same category.

The reason I bring this up is I don't know how to properly make the edit myself. Not trying to make anymore work for you.

What do you think?199.126.41.223 (talk) 22:51, 2 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think I will eventually sign up and learn more about this and then maybe I can give you more of a hand. It doesn't seem there’s a lot of people involved in the K-1 pages.

Thanks man! 199.126.41.223 (talk) 19:18, 3 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
